I am new here

Interesting that you come back to this despite the intervening days and posts between us.

Why do you think it's an interrogation much less a trap? Are you guilty of something?
No, I just noticed an interrogation technique. I was reviewing a post and gave further explanation.

You mean "asking questions"? Interesting since that goes against what you initially claimed.

Hello friends,

I am happy to be here and will try to participate well.

Thank you
I would like to. I'm not much for politics. I like more light subjects. Politics gets me sad.

I don't have to answer personal questions or any question for that matter. I plan to participate on appropriate threads, but nobody will lord over me.
Of course. I don't either.

OTOH, asking about opinions or hobbies is not the same as asking about one's home address or the specific year and school where they graduated.

The fact you became upset with casual conversation piques my interest. The questions that you claim are "interrogations" which upset you so much:
It was part of my profession to assess people's fitness for over 40 years. Now it's partly habit, partly hobby.

What are your hobbies?
Do you make any of them look like Satan?

Your question about hobbies was an obvious attempt to dig into my psyche.
Wow. Sorry, fraynd, but that sounds like someone with a case of the shpilkes.

So, according to you, whenever someone opens a conversation with an icebreaker, to you immediately leap to the conclusion they are digging into your psyche? In a way, they are. It's called "getting to know someone", but you're free to think they are "interrogating" you or digging into your "psyche".

For some groups, it can also be effective to break into pairs or small groups after asking your icebreaker question. This can put people at ease and give everyone chance to speak and be heard too.

  1. Which of your mentors had the biggest effect on you growing up and why?
  2. If you had $1000 to spend on an office party, what would you do?
  3. What’s a topic you could give a TED talk on without preparation?
  4. What was your first job and what did you learn from it?
  5. What’s been taking up the most space in your brain recently?
  6. What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?
  7. What book are you reading right now? What TV show are you watching right now
  8. What one word would you use to describe your mood today?
  9. What are you most looking forward to?
  10. What band or artist will you always get you singing or dancing?

Mr. Tiny Penis, why are you back? You promised to shut this forum down and move everyone over to some other forum. Did they already ban you for posting filth?

Did he make his own forum or was it an echo chamber that was owned by someone else?
