Iran’s chief negotiator accuses Trump of ‘theater diplomacy’ with Hormuz traffic near standstill​

Iran’s chief negotiator has accused U.S. President Donald Trump of staging “theater diplomacy,”.

″‘Massive attack coming … wait, never mind, they want to negotiate.’ That’s theater diplomacy on loop,” Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Iran’s parliament speaker and top negotiator, wrote in a post on X on Thursday in an apparent jibe at Trump.

The remarks came days after Trump called off planned strikes and said the outlines of a deal had already been settled with Tehran. Iranian officials have rejected the claim, saying no talks were underway.

Yup.

I was just about to this. My main rule when raising my kids was to make very few threats of serious consequences, unless a situation really required it. But once you made that threat always follow through. Once your kids (anyone) realizes you have the staying power of gnat and will drop it and move on if they just wait you out, you lose all power in future situations.

Biden was following the DOHA agreement negotiated by the Trump administration for withdrawal from Afghanistan. Of course Biden moved it up by 8 months and fucked the whole withdrawal up. Just historical fact.
