Eat the rich, they said. Noooooo, not all of 'em!

I can give an example from when I was fighting against Prop 127 here in Arizona.

This was a proposition on the ballot almost entirely bankrolled by Tom Steyer. What he didn't tell you was that he was the major owner of the largest company on the US West coast bankrolling loans for home solar installations, including in Arizona. He was also one of the largest traders in coal futures in Asia. Farallon Capital, his primary hedge fund company, stood to make hundreds of millions off of Prop 127 if it passed.

He was publicly saying it was all about clean energy and such, but the money trail led back to him making a shit ton of cash off forcing Arizona by law into using far more solar.

Steyer is just another sleezy billionaire that has decided there's money to be made from having a Progressive Leftist persona. I figure that he's figured out that the Left are a bunch of gullible rubes that he can get rich off of.

I don't think Desh objects to Tom. Or the Soros family.

Does "unbridled capitalism" exist anywhere? Yes, or no.

No.

Pure “unbridled capitalism” (a system with zero government intervention, regulation, taxation, or coercive framework of any kind) does not exist anywhere and never has. Markets require some enforceable rules of property, contract, and force to function at scale; every real-world economy that is called capitalist operates with some mixture of those rules plus additional interventions.
