Is the economy on the skid????

The FCC has had a policy against "news distortion" in over-the-air broadcast (local TV and radio stations) news for over 50 years. Cable news networks, newspapers or newsletters (whether online or print), social media platforms, online-only streaming outlets, or any other non-broadcast news platform are outside of the FCC's jurisdiction with respect to news distortion.

News distortion "must involve a significant event and not merely a minor or incidental aspect of the news report." In weighing the constitutionality of the policy, courts have recognized that the policy "makes a crucial distinction between deliberate distortion and mere inaccuracy or difference of opinion." As a result, broadcasters are only subject to enforcement if it can be proven that they have deliberately distorted a factual news report. Expressions of opinion or errors stemming from mistakes are not actionable.

11 million jobs were created in the 8 years of the Obama administration.

In the ~14 years of the administrations of Poppy Bush (+2.6 million added), George Dumbya (+1.4 million added), Trump 1 (- 3 million lost), Trump 2 (+0.6 mil) jobs added.

In summary:

In 14 years of the last three Republican presidents, 600 thousand (600k) total jobs added.

In 8 years of the Obama presidency, 11 million jobs added

Obama performed better by 1,733 percent. And in less time.

A shallow downturn is unavoidable

But a full blown recession is not needed for any reason

When you properly fetter a capitalist democracy there will be resources to ad corrections into the system

A stable economy is good for everyone

A boom bust economy is only good for the wealthy
I agree, but not as strongly as I would like to agree. A classical economist would argue that recessions are good in the long run, because they clear out the deadwood, and let everything else grow better. I just do not feel that is right. It seems like the deadwood would be cleared out on its own, sooner or later. Do we really need all the deadwood being cleared at once?

But I use the word "feel", because I do not have a strong argument for being right. Maybe the secret is putting a stop to zombie companies before the recession. Vendors tend to allow one or two customers to slide, but when there is a recession, they crack down on the many customers with excuses. Maybe the solution is treating all times like a recession as far as excuses.

There are many economists looking at the first trump recession. The heavy handed government response meant almost none of the deadwood was cleared out. Companies that were on the verge of going bankrupt got a huge government payday, and continued on for years. Vendors allowed everyone to slide. Even landlords were forced to let tenets not to pay rent. It is a natural experiment in what happens when the deadwood is not cleared out.

No link required for you.
It's universal knowledge that job growth under Trump has been absolutely anemic, it's universal knowledge that there were massive job loses under Dumbya due to the Great Recession, and it's universal knowledge that there was a recession and anemic job growth under Poppy Bush.

Nobody who pays any attention to politics needs a link to confirm that.

Unless you've been living under a rock, it only takes basic reasoning and common universal knowledge to understand that jobs added under 8 years of Obama was more than all the jobs added in 14 years under three Republican presidents.

OMG! You have to revert back to Bush. ..
And I'll need proof job growth was what you say it was during Obama. I don't believe a word of it.

The economy is shit.......but the government is making massive amounts of new dollars and this society is massively corrupt.....the amount of manipulation is stunning.

Must Americans are too ignorant to see it.

You are in for a nasty shock.

Get all your news from FOX?

In eight years of the Obama presidency, 11.6 million jobs were created.

"The Obama economy gained a net 11.6 million jobs."

https://www.factcheck.org/2017/09/obamas-final-numbers/

Only six hundred thousand (600k) were created in 14 years under the last three Republican presidents.

It's really a shocking job growth comparison, that's why you are extremely reluctant to accept it
