FYI the only way to truly judge people is by seeing what they do when they are in a position of power. And what did mohammed do when he was in a position of power? He started off by being a mouthy religious bigot when his power was low. Then he graduated to a violent religious bigot until he was kicked out of Mecca. Then he came back and started chopping the heads off of people who refused to convert, he forced women and children into rape-slavery, and married a small child.
Was mohammed a good guy?
Can muslim girls wear a hijab here if they want to? Yes. And totally without fear, anywhere, any time of day.
Can non-muslims walk around Saudi Arabia, Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan, etc, etc, etc without a hijab on? If they do, what happens to them?
What was life like for non-muslims in the Ottoman Empire? Was religious bigotry codified right into law for 600 years straight? Yes it was.
You see the world from the "end of your own nose" POV while ignoring the history of the prophet, the 1400-year history of islam, the recent history of islam through the 1700s-1980s, the current state of religious bigotry within islamic countries, etc.
I'm sure that you consider Israel evil, because of what your friends tell you happened there during partition (the "nakba"), FYI Pakistan was partitioned less than a year earlier and they killed about 2,000x as many people as the Jews did. If there was a nabka in Israel, then there was a mega-mega-mega-mega nabka in Pakistan a year earlier, but no muslims cared. They all embraced Pakistan as a legitimate country on day one, and never said a word about anyone's "right to return".
Israel is still 20% muslim to this day, but the Pakistanis drove out almost all of the Sikhs and Hindus. They only make up about 2% of the population of Pakistan now, and Hindus were the original religion in that region from 1500BC until the islamic murderers came in the 700s.
When you look at the overall actions of islam from 30,000 feet, over 1,400 years, you see a pattern of violent religious bigotry in every single place and time that they have ever been in power.
