That was already discussed in several of the links I gave. Just the savings in remittances abroad per year would cover the cost of arrest and deportation.

A simplistic, single-sourced response that ignores various solutions to a complex problem taking the form of a special pleading fallacy.

For example, in the agricultural and construction sectors automation of many processes is an alternative to manual labor. That is already occurring in those industries.

The above also ignores that illegals hired in those industries frequently do inferior quality work.


That aside, illegals tend to be concentrated in the least skilled trades in construction as well.


I've seen it myself, and know from talking to other contractors, that illegals are often a poor choice as workers. Not only is there the danger of arrest involved here, contractors know that illegals lack the education and training to do skilled work.

In the electrical trade, I've seen the shit work they do. Service panels that are rat's nests. Electrical tape everywhere in boxes. Nicked wires and non-code compliant installations. They work fast but their results are sloppy, inferior, and can even be dangerous, like loose connections, incorrect wiring, overfill of boxes, and other hazards. They don't give a shit. They want to get paid.

Restaurants and such often use them simply to gain profit margin. That occurs regularly in the Southwest. Take the recent Colt Grill (5 locations in Arizona) steakhouse chain. The owners fired American workers (who ratted them out btw) and hired illegals who they conspired with to do human smuggling to get them into the country. Then they paid less than minimum wage, kept the workers in safe houses, didn't pay taxes etc., on them, all to make a bigger profit. Chuy's and Federico's are two more of the same example.

So, the business owners were taking advantage of illegals using them as near slave labor and you are championing that here.

Let's instead deport them all and make business owners pay legitimate wages at a fair rate to their workers rather than exploit foreign ones through criminal action.

Show me where I championed anything close to what they did.

You brought up an irrelevant point which fails to support your argument now you're falsely accusing me of championing it.

My point is merely that without immigrant labor, we are facing labor shortages that are costing the economy a lot more than whatever free gub'mint benefits you're bitching about.

That would do little to nothing to solve anything. There would still be a labor shortage because Americans just will not do a lot of the kinds of jobs immigrants, both legal and illegal are happy and willing to.

For sane, mature adults, the answer is to make it easier to obtain guest worker passes.

But the MAGA bigot scumbags will not go along with that because they're brown, they talk funny and have funny sounding names.

Fuck MAGA.
