DEI Messiah Jason Arday found Dead

Apparently he was quite well known and celebrated for his “accomplishments“. Turns out he was a total fraud.
At least Two lessons here:

1.You would to find someone to the degree of his sham.
2. More than likely you have to travel across the Atlantic to find any teacher in England.

You never even used the acronym DEI until Trump & Co. started using it. I'm not going to take anyone seriously who lets Trump & Co. do their thinking for them.

You would have never heard of him if it weren't for FOX pundits and right-wing podcasters.

I think you have bigger fish to fry than searching the internet for obscure DEI people. Like justifying your Iran War, or explaining why Trump has made the economy worse since the day he took over from Biden.
Considering this story has made the waves in academia and been reported on by the NY Times, WSJ and leading papers in London, one didn't have to look too far into the internet to find it.

As far as bigger fish to fry, I believe a pretty strong argument can be made to the importance of our (elite) Universities in this country (and even the UK). So what's happening within academia, and what this story represents in that space, is pretty relevant.

Stories about a college teacher in England don't interest me and it's highly unlikely I will read them or pay attention to them.

I'm confident that if I asked my friends or random people on the street to explain the Jason Arday story to me, 98 percent of them would draw a blank.

I don't care about a college teacher in England and do not believe it is a catastrophic indictment of American higher education anymore than were the dozens of other professors who have been caught plagiarizing or faking research over the years.

It is your right not to care in the least. If you don't run in, or follow, academic circles most probably haven't heard of him. But this story is not about whether people recognized his name prior to this.

A "catastrophic indictment" are your words not mine. You're saying to make it easier to dismiss, but I didn't say that. What I did say was its gotten the coverage it has in top publications because its very relevant to what's happening in our top Universities.

You've spoken before on the importance of world class universities but want to dismiss the big picture of what the story represents as basically irrelevant? You can but it's not really a consistent position.

For those who don't know (but not for those who pretend the Arday fraud was a nothingburger), Nathan Cofnas is the academic who discovered the scandal and wrote about it.

BTW, this is what rector Petra De Sutter used to look like:

This is how he looks now:

I'm actually surprised that Ardy had enough shame to actually kill himself.

CNN and MSNBC both would have paid him as a "contributor." Like Rachel Dolenz and Elizabeth Warren, frauds are deeply loved by the left - because ultimately the democrat party is a fraud, a con job from top to bottom. These are the success stories.
Bite a dead mules cock you cult brained morals morpher

Go read the OPs post idiot

Of course not. It doesn’t fit your far left ideology.
I'm confident that if I asked my friends
LBGTQXYZ
or random people on the street
Are not too bright and/or have no interest in higher academia.
to explain the Jason Arday story to me, 98 percent of them would draw a blank.
Me too until I read about it in the NYT . If you can’t comprehend articles from that left leaning publication geared toward an eighth grade level, I understand.

I don't care about a college teacher in England and do not believe it is a catastrophic indictment of American higher education
Because it’s not. It’s an indictment on the failure of DEI, a component of far left ideology.

anymore than were the dozens of other professors who have been caught plagiarizing or faking research over the years.
This was far more extreme. I realize that’s lost on you given your limited reading interests (yes, limited to far left ideology) and/or comprehension.

This is parody, but it sure cuts close to the bone.

"Hitler committed suicide after being hounded by the foreign press. But isn't it possible that he murdered six million Jews while ill from depression, caused by negative press attention in the first place? Hitler was a sensitive man whose dreams were shattered when he was rejected from art school. Then he probably developed PTSD due to being in a war. Is this, as the far-right claim, the story of an evil dictator going on a brutal murderous rampage? Or is it, in reality, a story of a sensitive man who was driven to suicide by an out-of-control news media whipped up by racist Winston Churchill?" :rofl2:

Compare the above to excuses lefties are making for their latest hero.

The extent of Jason Arday's lies:

* Visiting professor at University of Glasgow

* Visiting professor at Ohio State University

* Honorary professor at Durham University

* Master’s degree from Birkbeck, University of London

* Raised £5.5 million for charity

* WaterAid work installing water points abroad

* Pigs head delivered to family home

* Appeared in BBC’s Seven Up series

* Non-verbal/mute until age 11

* Illiterate until ~18

* Extreme endurance feats for charity (30 marathons in 35 days, 600 miles in 6 days)

* Extensive plagiarism in PhD thesis and papers

* Other research issues (impossible data, mismatched quotes, etc.)

* Being in a coma with Locked-in syndrome

* Brain tumor

* Professional snooker player

* Pro football player

Arday (1985–2026) was a UK academic who became Cambridge’s youngest Black professor of sociology of education in 2023, resigned in early August 2026 amid plagiarism and fabrication allegations, and died shortly afterward. Multiple outlets (The Times, The Telegraph, The Guardian, The Atlantic, National Review, and others) investigated these issues extensively.

Here is a point-by-point assessment based on reporting:

Academic titles and affiliations

  • Visiting professor at University of Glasgow: False as stated. Glasgow confirmed he was never a visiting professor there. He held a full professorship (2022–2023) before moving to Cambridge; the “visiting” claim on his Cambridge profile was incorrect.
  • Visiting professor at Ohio State University: Appears fabricated. Reporting found no evidence of the claimed affiliation in the Office of Diversity and Inclusion.
  • Honorary professor at Durham University: Disputed. He previously held a substantive Associate Professor role (and Deputy Executive Dean) at Durham; the ongoing “honorary” claim on his profile was among items Cambridge cited when opening an investigation into his qualifications and honorary appointments.
  • Visiting professor at Nelson Mandela University: Partial/supported in older sources. Archived pages from the institution listed him in visiting/adjunct capacities.

Qualifications and publications

  • Master’s from Birkbeck: Not the primary or accurately presented credential in standard profiles. His documented path includes degrees from the University of Surrey, St Mary’s University (Twickenham), and Liverpool John Moores University (PhD 2015).
  • Extensive plagiarism in PhD thesis and papers + other research issues (impossible data, mismatched quotes): Substantial evidence exists. Nathan Cofnas’s analysis and subsequent media reviews identified extensive textual overlap (reports of 100+ or ~188 sentences/passages) between Arday’s 2015 Liverpool John Moores PhD and Paula Zwozdiak-Myers’s earlier 2009 thesis, sometimes retaining errors. LJMU investigated and did not uphold deliberate plagiarism (citing possible honest error linked to autism/supervision issues) and said the PhD stands. Independent academics and outlets described the overlaps as clear plagiarism. Later papers showed recycled or mismatched interview quotes, “impossible” data inconsistencies, and required corrections (e.g., via Retraction Watch notes). Cambridge opened an investigation citing new information on qualifications and appointments; Arday resigned.

Personal background and health claims

  • Non-verbal/mute until age 11; illiterate until ~18: Central to his public narrative and memoir, but strongly contradicted by schoolmates, neighbors, and acquaintances who recalled him speaking, being polite/intelligent, and participating normally. School records and contemporaneous accounts do not align with total mutism or illiteracy until late teens.
  • Coma with locked-in syndrome; brain tumor: Claimed in a book proposal (car accident leading to months in a coma with locked-in syndrome; tumor during PhD work with memory issues). The final published memoir omitted or altered some of these details. No independent medical or contemporary corroboration has been publicly produced.
  • Pig’s head delivered to family home: Claimed as a racist threat. Police (Met) stated they had no record of such an allegation or related investigation matching his description; inquiries with butchers did not corroborate. Reporting treats this as unverified/unsupported.

Charity, athletics, and other achievements

  • Raised £5.5 million for charity: Highly disputed and unsupported at that scale. Independent checks (e.g., early JustGiving records) show far smaller documented amounts. Arday later described it as involving a syndicate under NDA.
  • WaterAid work installing water points abroad: Claimed in biographical accounts; specific verification is thin.
  • Extreme endurance feats (30 marathons in 35 days, 600 miles in 6 days): Physically extraordinary and widely questioned as improbable for an amateur. Timelines were later adjusted in some tellings; contemporaneous public logs did not fully match the most dramatic versions.
  • Appeared in BBC’s Seven Up series: False. The original series began in 1964 (participants followed from age 7); Arday was born in 1985. BBC stated he had nothing to do with the films. A spin-off timing also does not fit. He later described the reference as informal shorthand for another programme.
  • Professional snooker player: Exaggerated. He claimed competitive success and substantial winnings; CueTracker (professional/amateur database) shows only limited amateur participation with no notable prize money.
  • Pro footballer (e.g., Crystal Palace): Exaggerated. He claimed academy time at Crystal Palace and semi-professional play. The club lacked records for the relevant period; lower-level non-league play (e.g., Lewisham Borough) has been noted instead.

Overall: The post’s list of Jason Arday’s lies aligns with the weight of investigative reporting from across the political spectrum.

Many elements of the celebrated personal narrative (disability severity, athletic/charity feats, specific threats, certain titles) lack independent corroboration or are directly contradicted.

Academic work shows extensive textual and data problems that LJMU did not treat as deliberate misconduct but that many external reviewers view as serious.

Cambridge’s investigation into qualifications and appointments, combined with the pattern of adjustments when claims were challenged, supports treating large parts of the public biography as unreliable or fabricated.

Arday denied being a liar, attributed issues partly to autism and inadequate supervision, and maintained he had been cleared of deliberate plagiarism.

Then he killed himself.

Biden. Get out from the rock you’ve been living under.
The only ones running around message boards relentlessly chanting "DEI" are Trump dick suckers.

Acronyms that policy wonks use in civil service hiring policies are not a major news story.

12 months ago you Trumpers were muttering about critical race theory.

Before that your obsession was sharia law.

You've almost given up using the term Woke.

FOX trains you like a monkey to get obsessed with the acronym du jour every six months. You let FOX and Trump do your thinking for you
