Christian symbolism in the movie 'The Matrix'

The learning process is basically associating something you already know with something new.
Different people use different favored senses in the learning process.

Some learn visually.
Some learn aurally.
Some learn by rote memorization.
Some learn by abstracts.
Some learn by sense of touch.
Some learn by sense of mechanical stress on joints.

It depends on what you are learning and the purpose you are learning it, and personal preferences.

It is why different authors of books on the same subject are favored by one or another.

Watching a lecture isn't work.
Watching a documentary isn't work.
Watching a video isn't work.
NONE of these are necessarily a way to learn.

Let's consider your denial of the Bible.
You can learn it contents by reading it, by lecture, by documentaries and other videos, by taking classes, or listening to so-called 'experts'.

But you deny the Bible.

Psychoquackery.

Reversal fallacy. Attempted proof by name dropping.

MIT is a school. Some agree with you, some do not. MIT is not a person.
AI is not sentient. It is not a person.
You deny philosophy.

Cut and paste is not knowing anything.
MORE LIES.

The Red Pill/Blue Pill dilemma is a good one. While other movies have pondered Free Will, such as the Minority Report, I agree that none have been as clear cut about choice as the Matrix movie, especially the first one.
I'm convinced most MAGA morons would make the Cypher choice and choose to live a comfortable lie rather than accept a painful truth. That's based on how many blatant lies they were willing to accept for ten years just so they could feel good about their worship of their bloated Messiah.

These people have an extraordinary capacity to live a lie and be comfortable with it.

Agreed on their choice and agreed that's the example they are setting. They favor living in a past that is 60 years dead and is mostly a fantasy based upon 1960s family shows like "Farther Knows Best" and "Leave It to Beaver".

True on living a lie. IMO, they are all suffering from mental issues. Notice that all of them are either stupid, mentally ill and/or demented. There are no intellectuals among MAGAts, In fact, they hate intellectualism, education, science and anyone who supports those things.

Knowledge doesn't just pop into your brain spontaneously and at random. How do you learn?

Read books.

You have to do the work of watching lectures,

LOL. "Lectures". That what you call sitting in your skivvies, scratching your balls and watching YouTube while you eat FrootLoops?

documentaries, videos, reading books and articles, taking classes, listening to subject matter experts.

Just looking at the words or watching the YouTube does not make you smart, Cy. Sorry you have to learn this at this late point in life.

Your increasing anger and agitation :cuss:

I'm not angry! I'm having a BLAST! You are the best joke on the internet and I love seeing your bullshit! It is hilarious. And I LOVE being the guy on here who knows your shit.

tell me you have started to realize that because MIT, AI, and a university philosophy professor all independently corroborate what I have been writing, then I must actually know what I'm talking about on this thread.

Oh my....Cy has watched YouTube videos with MIT people. Ergo Cy is just as smart.

I don't think I've ever seen a Hollywood film broach topic of free will like the matrix. Cypher chose to live a comfortable lie rather than accept the painful truth, but then later in the trilogy the implication is that Neo's actions have been predetermined.

Why don't you and your boyfriend just set fire to the environment and masturbate each other with AI generate shit?

Why do you not believe in climate change???? Why do you doubt the science??????????

@Cypress FWIW:

Google AI: Which basic plot is the story of Jesus?

In Christopher Booker's The Seven Basic Plots, the life story of Jesus is categorized as the ultimate embodiment of Rebirth, which Booker argues serves as the foundational template for all human storytelling. [1, 2]
While the theological narrative explicitly uses the word "rebirth" via the resurrection, the story also perfectly mirrors several other archetypes. [1, 2]
The narrative intersects with Booker's system across these distinct plotlines:

1. The Primary Plot: Rebirth
Booker focuses heavily on how the archetypal Rebirth structure reflects a journey from spiritual darkness or death into life and renewal. [1]

  • The Living Death: Jesus’ narrative includes a literal descent into death (the crucifixion and burial).
  • The Redemption/Miracle: His resurrection on the third day represents the ultimate, literal "rebirth" that triumphs over a dark trajectory, offering a new spiritual beginning to humanity. [1, 2]

Secondary Overlapping Plots
The Gospel narrative functions as a mega-plot that effectively cycles through multiple other basic structures: [1]

  • Overcoming the Monster: In this view, the "monster" is not a physical beast but the existential forces of Sin, Satan, and Death. Jesus acts as the hero who goes to the "monster's lair" (the grave/hell) to defeat it and liberate humanity from its tyrannical grip. [1, 2, 3]
  • The Quest: Jesus’ earthly ministry is a structured Quest with a specific, unwavering objective: the salvation and redemption of mankind. He gathers companions (the disciples), faces severe temptations and trials in the wilderness, and achieves his goal at the cross. [, 2, 3]
  • Voyage and Return: This applies to the cosmic scope of the incarnation. Jesus leaves a perfect, familiar land (Heaven), travels into a deeply flawed, hostile, and foreign territory (Earth) to fulfill a mission, and then returns to his origin point via the Ascension. [, 2]
  • Rags to Riches: He begins his earthly life in the ultimate "rags"—born in a humble manger to working-class parents. Through his sacrifice, he is exalted to the ultimate "riches," ascending to a heavenly throne as a victorious king. []

The Ultimate "Happy Ending"
Booker famously notes that the story of Jesus effectively resolves the tensions of all basic plots simultaneously, combining them into a macro-narrative of a "complete happy ending" for the human race. [1, 2]
Would you like to examine how another religious epic fits these plots, or explore Booker's concept of the "Monster" in classica
Keep fucking up the environment with your AI shit, morons.

Why do you fucking MAGA folks do this sort of shit?????

If there's anything meaningful to learn from The Matrix it is the following:

It causes stunted, ill-developed brains to run to the nascent AI to generate erudite-sounding bullshit about something deep because the ill-developed brain can't formulate thoughts on its own. The AI then proceeds to churn through electricity to "process" the DEEEEEP information the ill-developed brain wants to claim as his own. This leads to the destruction of the climate through the burning of fossil fuels.

The ill-developed brain doesn't understand that his desperation to make himself sound smarter through AI only makes the planet worse and hurts more people.

Maybe that's the goal? Does the Ill-Developed Brain hate everyone (except one special "friend") and wants to harm as many people as possible all while defending Christianity?

It is interesting but it certainly points up how ill-developed the ill-developed brain is.

Read books.
That's the one and only place to acquire information?. LOL.
Physicists Sean Carol and Neil deGrasse Tyson have YouTube channels. TED talks stream on YouTube. You must be committed to a faculty where steaming services are blocked if you believe there is nothing educational on YouTube.

I think one of the biggest sources of knowledge for you are my threads, given how they are almost the only place on the internet you obsessively spend time.
