Fine by me, if they follow the safety standards.

This sounds like more wishfully promises from Maga Delulu Land.

this is not for commercial purposes.
I think you are misunderstanding what "their own food" means in this context. They would already be able to eat what they like if "their own food" meant what they eat. In this case, "their own food" refers to the food they produce and sell to others. It is very much for commercial purposes.

I have never seen one of these "immaculately CLEAN" farms trump speaks of. I do not have a huge amount of farm experience, but I know they are nowhere near as clean as trump claims.

It seems dangerous to me to eat food mass processed without any regulations just because it was processed on a farm. And it seems illegal to sell such food. If trump wants to change the law, he should go to Congress.

If Trump did it, the left will say it's bad.

American farmers are getting hammered, and this barely matters.....just about nobody is going to put major money into something that is likely to go away on no notice with someone else in the WH.

This is Trump dementia, the fact that he has low quality people around him, and that the Empire cares more about their game in the narrative space than it cares about reality.

Anything that happens by way of Swamp dictate or Presidential pen can go away instantly the same way.

And we have now watched multiple times as America falls Presidents trying to erase the previous President.

Investors require something more solid and permanent.

Yup.

The regulatory and food safety testing requirements for cross State sale of meats, etc, has caused 4-5 giant processors to do 90% of all product giving them big power and profits over the ranchers and farmers.

The good part though is that it makes national standards and recalls and monitoring possible.

This will be like the diarrhea lettuce issue that just happened where abandoned prior testing and monitoring standards would have almost certainly caught it much earlier. But with meat it is much more dangerous.

Trump is trying to find something, anything, to help the ranchers and farmers he just so badly fucked over desperately trying to get cheaper beef on to the shelves before midterms. Not sure this is the best way.

“Without any regulations.” That is not what has been announced. Rollins listed waiving red tape, rescinding outdated guidance, more support for small processors, technology for safety data, and expanding interstate sale. Industry groups (Meat Institute, NCBA) warn that selling uninspected meat would undermine safety. Existing custom plants are not zero-regulation; they still have sanitation rules and periodic review. How far Monday’s package actually goes is not public yet.

Context Walt did not mention

This landed the same week as backlash over the 90-day expansion of the lean-beef-trimmings quota (300,000 metric tons, three 100,000-ton tranches starting Sept. 1). Four firms—JBS USA, Tyson, Cargill, National Beef—still handle roughly 80–85% of fed-cattle slaughter. That concentration is real. Whether on-farm or small-plant processing can dent it without a statutory change is the open question.

Bottom line: Walt is right that this is about commercial sale, that current law does not allow uninspected retail/interstate meat, and that a durable change belongs in Congress. He is guessing, not documenting, that the result would be unregulated “mass processed” farm meat. Wait for Monday’s USDA package before treating either the cheerleading or the food-poisoning prediction as settled.

You have NO farm or ranch experience, Wally.
It is not changing the law.
