You’re changing the subject.
ICE picked up a visa overstayer with a removal order.
You replied with “immigrants” as a lump: economy, crime rates, business formation, Brookings. That is not a rebuttal. It is a brochure.
On the crime line specifically: you cannot state an illegal-immigrant crime rate as if it were a known fact.
Nobody has a hard count of how many people are here illegally on any given day.
Most jurisdictions do not record immigration status in their crime files. Divide incomplete offenses by an estimated population and you get an at best nothing but an estimate, not a measurement.
Estimates are not conclusive data.
So “they commit crime at lower rates than native-born Americans” is not something you get to treat as settled when the “they” in this thread is people here illegally. You don’t have the denominator. A lot of places don’t even have the status flag.
If you want to argue legal immigrants, say legal immigrants.
If you want to argue the foreign-born stock in the ACS, say that.
Don’t launder an enforcement thread through a generic immigrant average and call it a reply.
What part of illegal do you not understand? It is illegal for me to beat your dumb ass to the ground for no reason. Keyword being illegal. Against the law.. You and too many lefties want exceptions to the law. All for political reasons. Why should I have to follow the law then? I would be more than happy to beat your dumb ass to the curb. Gladly. Illegal-immigrant crime rates are not conclusive. The headcount is an estimate, most places do not record status, and a rate that divides booked offenses by an estimated population is not the same class of fact as “this person was arrested.”
Settled illegal residents are counted imperfectly; brand-new border crossers and people who refuse every government contact are counted worse.
