Oklahoma Bible mandate challenged in Court

The Bible is not sentient. It cannot control anyone.

I did say the Bible itself does not control anyone.

In fact, I specifically stated:
"The Bible (the book itself) is not sentient and does not control anyone. That is true, as far as it goes.
But many, many people and organizations use the Bible to control the masses."

And that statement is absolutely true.

I wish people would actually READ what I post, rather than replying to what they wish I'd said.

No. It was rescinded. Quite different.

Nothing prohibits Bibles in schools.

From being there? No, there is nothing to prohibit it.

But teaching it in public schools, as a required course, is prohibited.

Why is it so hard to understand that religious texts have no place as required reading in a public school. Why do so many Xtians demand THEIR faith be taught, but no other religion should be.

of course,

you, the great religious scholar, is opposed to children studying the most printed book in human history and an integral part of western culture and history.

you're an idiiot masquerading as an asswipe.
You suck at mind reading. I'm fine with putting the Bible along with the Quran, the Baghavad Gita, the Dhammapada in high schools and colleges and teaching them as important examples of world literature, and summarizing their historical significance.

I'm fine with students learning about the intersection of western history and Christiany, the good and the bad. All of America's first colleges and hospitals were founded by Protestants. America was the world's most literate society in the 18th century because Protestants were expected to be taught to read the Bible. Separation of church and state was an idea originating from the Baptists. That's Just basic historical facts, not religious dogma.

On the other hand, forced conversion of Indian children was nothing to be proud of.

Your forgot to add a few additional holy books to make it look like you are REALLY smart.

Oh just stop, Cy. Everyone knows you are a dyed in the wool God-botherer. You are a Christian. Stop playing coy with your religion. I've never seen an adult scream about the greatness of Christianity as much as you (along with your HATRED of all things atheist) who wasn't a Christian.

Why do you deny your Lord? Do you think yourself like Peter? (Go ahead, hit up AI to figure that one out)

So long as they didn't grow up ATHEIST, eh, Cy?

Oh just stop, Cy!
So you don't believe highschool and college students should be told facts like Protestant Christianity was responsible for the nation's first colleges and widespread literacy, but on the other hand it played a malevolent role in witch trials and Indian forced conversion.

I believe in letting all the facts play out on the stage of the highschool or college class.

I personally think it is important for Bible thumpers to hear that the idea of separation of church and state historically came from them - most especially the Baptists. It didn't come from Satanists, atheists, or Socialists.

So why do you fight against atheism so much? I'm genuinely curious. You don't understand it and I've not met any agnostics who HATE atheism as much as you do.

So why do you fight against atheism so much?!
Teach the history of atheism too: Sigmund Freud, Frederich Nietchze, Karl Marx, the French Revolution, Soviet state atheism, Jean Paul Satre.

You can't adequately teach cultural history, political history, literary history by just sweeping all facts about religion under the carpet, which is what you are implying you would like to do.

Education should never be about sweeping facts under the carpet.

You said it, then nullified it. You are locked in paradox. You're going to have to decide which conflicting argument you want to make, and utterly discard the other.

It is not prohibited at all. If Oklahoma wants to require such a thing, it is perfectly legal.
Why is it so hard to understand that religious texts have no place as required reading in a public school.
They do.
Why do so many Xtians demand THEIR faith be taught, but no other religion should be.
You cannot speak for everyone, or even every Christian. Omniscience fallacy.
It is not prohibited from teaching the Quran in public schools in Oklahoma either.
The same is true of the Talmud.
The same is true of any religious scripture.

I might ask:
Why do democrats insist on teaching the religion of Global Warming in schools. along with all of it's scripture?

No one can force conversion, Cyborg.

He is neither a Christian nor an atheist.

He's just a narcissist.

Fascism means ,when you let a Orange Messiah, stark raving MAD man, walk all over the Republican party, and the Constitution ,so the Mad Man can get richer, and feed his enormous ego to Compensate for an ugly shot Mushroom head penis!
That's American🇺🇸 Fascism 101
Redefinition fallacy. Go learn what 'fascism' means.
What makes you believe in an Orange Messiah. I see this religious reference used by a few Democrats regularly.
Why would you worship a mad god?

No one is walking over the Republican party.
DON'T TRY TO HIDE BEHIND THE CONSTITUTION YOU DESPISE!

There is no such thing as a 'MAGA Christian Nationalist'. MAGA is not a person.

I happen to be a Christian. Not blindly.
I happen to be a patriot. I support the Constitution of the United States and all State constitutions, unlike you. I support the people that created them and ordained them to law and who continue to treat them as law.

I support the people of the United States and the great nation that they are.

I support capitalism, since it is the only system that creates wealth. It is the only system that reduces poverty. Anyone can play, rich, poor, and everywhere in between. All you need is initiative.

I support deporting illegal aliens wherever they may be found.
I support legal immigration.
I honor the flag of the United States, and the people that flag represents.
