APP - A brief survey: How involved with your government are you?

We all gave legitimate grievances with our government. What are we prepared to do about them? What do we actually do about them?

How often do you contact your representatives and let them know where you are happy with them when you’re peeved and when you are outright distressed?

How often do you campaign, contribute, get involved beyond your vote in our election process?

It is said that a people get the government they deserve. How true do you think that is? How involved in its governance is a free society obligated to be? I what point does their non-involvement lose them the right to complain about how they are being governed.

The minority running this nation currently, they are involved in our governance. They contribute time, money, to get their interests seen to. What are the rest of us doing?

Is that the actual problem.

Is Pogo right: “We have seen the face of our enemy, and he is us?

Often.

Used to be very often, but I decided that being a registered Independent was a better option...and now do no actual campaigning. I do contribute to the Democrats occasionally, because I think they are the best option for a better America.

Very true. We certainly "deserve" the federal government we have...which is the worst one I have seen dring my long life-time.

We should all be involved. But at no point does (or should) "non-involvement" lose its right to complain.

Lots.

Is that the actual problem.

Is what the actual problem?

We Americans are certainly contributing to the bullshit of current day living. We humans should be doing much, much, much better...and we are not. It has to be us who are screwing up.

I hear your frustration, but I am not sure of what you are doing in this post.

How involved? They send me a check every month and pay my medical bills.

I have contacted my representatives a few times, when I thought it was warranted.
