I'd need a prescription for that, grandma.
Am I?
I'm sure your geriatrician will give you one.
Yep. So much so you are in denial.

Go hide under your bed and tell yourself the dangers of AI are a hoax.
AI is threatening enough as is, but is really scary is that AI is largely owned and managed by narcissistic assholesA warning from a former Anthropic researcher who said artificial intelligence "could kill us all" in the coming months and years, has led to headlines, confusion and plenty of speculation, but could AI actually kill humans? And if so, how?
Jacob Coxon announced this week that he was resigning amid fears the company and its chief rival OpenAI “are racing straight to self-improving superintelligence and gambling with our lives.” Coxon's social media posts warned that some of his colleagues now believe AI could threaten human life by the end of the decade.
"Many people working in the industry, including executives, senior researchers, believe that there's a substantial probability that this technology could kill everyone," Coxon told "NBC Nightly News."
In his social media posts, Coxon said Anthropic and its chief rival OpenAI “are racing straight to self-improving superintelligence and gambling with our lives.” He warned that some working on AI development believe it could threaten human life by the end of the decade.
“Do not underestimate the power of this technology,” he continued. “These will soon be superhuman systems that can hack anything, revolutionize any field overnight, and acquire real power and resources. We have all witnessed the progress in each of these domains, and progress is not slowing.”
His posts reached more than 100 million people overnight.
While many experts have touted the benefits of artificial intelligence, including recently during the Open SkAI conference in Chicago, they acknowledge the tool doesn't come without risk.
"These tools are able to find new ways of hacking critical infrastructure, defense systems, or water and electricity systems," University of Chicago Professor Rebecca Willett, who is overseeing research on AI and its impact on space, physics, medicine and more.

There was anold SciFi story about people making computers that could know all and do all, and be able to administer justice. The first question man asked is "Is there a god. It answered, There is now".

“xAI / Grok” ^, proves my point, thanks, you going to tell us now Musk isn’t a narcissistic assholeIs that so, Anchovies?
Who actually owns the major labs
Ownership is concentrated in large institutions, not a handful of individuals:
- OpenAI: Mix of Microsoft (large stake after years of investment), the OpenAI Foundation/nonprofit structure, employees, and other investors. Sam Altman has been described as having little or no large personal equity in some accounts.
- Anthropic: Founders (Dario and Daniela Amodei and early team) plus major investments from Amazon and Google; governance includes a long-term benefit trust meant to constrain pure profit motives.
- Google DeepMind / Gemini: 100% Alphabet (public company). Demis Hassabis runs the lab; Sundar Pichai runs the parent.
- xAI / Grok: Elon Musk holds the dominant stake, with outside investors (including sovereign and VC money). It has been folded closer to his other companies.
- Meta AI: Public company controlled by Mark Zuckerberg through dual-class shares.
Big Tech (Microsoft, Amazon, Google, Nvidia, etc.) and public markets hold a large share of the economic interest. “Owned by narcissists” does not describe the cap tables.
