A Republican controlled Congress abandoned its powers and its obligation for oversight. A Democratic controlled House next January is apt to do considerably differently. There will be oversight. The we investigations. There will likely be impeachment. A Democratically controlled Senate may actually do something with the House findings. There may actually be a Trump resignation to avoid those results.

I doubt Trump has Nixon’s smarts. I think his ego won’t allow that but folks are speculating, as folks will do sometimes.
