THREAD: Trump Has Said It 50+ Times — IRAN WILL NEVER HAVE A NUCLEAR WEAPON

President Donald J. Trump has never wavered.

Since day one, he’s made it clear — Iran can’t have nukes. Not now. Not ever.

He’s said it in speeches, rallies, interviews, debates — let’s go through the receipts

Since taking office in 2025:

Why did Trump not campaign then on going to war with Iran to "end the nuclear threat"?

Instead, at best you can say he massively confused his magats voters by saying EVEN MORE TIMES that he would not CONTINUE the past of taking the US to wars and Middle east adventures and no US treasure would be spent 'over there' and instead it would be spend in America on Americans on an 'America First' agenda.

So again, why not make it clear in his campaign for POTUS that his intention was to FIRST go to war with Iran, end their nuclear threat and then after that was complete, no matter how many years it would take, he would focus on the home front?

Can you admit Trump's lie on this and confusing much of his voters that he was against these type of prior ME wars of 'WMD's MUST GO TO WAR'... 'NUKES MUST GO TO WAR'... etc and spilling of US treasure while raising the cost on citizens was foolish for Trump to do and if he had told his voters CLEARLY his plan was to go to war and they might have higher costs as a result, then he would be in a lot better position now.

During his 2024 presidential campaign, Donald Trump made "no new wars" a cornerstone of his "America First" platform, frequently boasting that he started no new conflicts during his first term and promising to maintain that record if re-elected. [1, 2]
Specific prominent instances where he pledged some version of this promise on the campaign trail and during his election cycle include:

1. The Republican National Convention Address (July 2024)
During his high-profile acceptance speech at the Republican National Convention, Trump explicitly stated his intention to end international conflicts and firmly pledged that under his leadership, the U.S. would not get involved in new foreign entanglements. [1]

2. Campaign Rally in Pennsylvania (2024)
While speaking to rallygoers in Pennsylvania, Trump leaned heavily into anti-interventionist rhetoric, connecting the promise directly to the safety of American troops by declaring:

"I will not send you to fight and die in stupid foreign wars that never end." [1]

3. Campaign Events in North Carolina (2024)
During multiple campaign stops across North Carolina, Trump unequivocally repeated variants of his core platform phrase, reassuring voters that his administration would guarantee "no more wars". [1]

4. Wisconsin Campaign Rally (October 2024)
At a swing-state rally in Wisconsin, Trump outsourced the promise to Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán to emphasize his point: [1]

"Viktor Orbán said, 'If Trump comes back, you won't have any wars. You won't have any wars...' But you won't have any wars." [1]

5. Election Night Victory Address (November 6, 2024)
Even after the voting concluded, Trump doubled down on this message during his victory speech in West Palm Beach, Florida, seeking to counter critics who labeled him a hawk: [1, 2, 3]

"Four years, we had no wars, except we defeated ISIS... They said, 'He will start a war.' I'm not going to start a war, I'm going to stop wars." [1]

During Trump’s second term, the U.S. engaged in multiple rounds of diplomacy and nuclear negotiations with Iran (often mediated by Oman and involving others such as Qatar, Pakistan, and Gulf states) before the major U.S.-Israeli military campaign that began in late February 2026.

Key points from the record:

Trump made limiting/dismantling Iran’s nuclear program a priority early on. In early 2025 he sent a letter to Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei setting a roughly 60-day deadline for an agreement. Talks began in April 2025 (Oman-mediated rounds involving U.S. special envoy Steve Witkoff and Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, plus expert-level meetings).

After the initial deadline passed without a full deal in mid-2025, Israel launched airstrikes (the “Twelve-Day War”), and the U.S. later struck Iranian nuclear sites. Negotiations continued or resumed in periods afterward, including rounds in early 2026 (February–April) focused on nuclear limits, enrichment, stockpiles of highly enriched uranium, inspections, sanctions, and related issues.

Public and private accounts indicate Trump and his team (including Witkoff and Jared Kushner) pursued a diplomatic track while also preparing military options and expressing dissatisfaction with the pace/Iranian responses. Oman described some late pre-strike meetings as productive and noted Iranian willingness to make concessions; privately, Trump was reported as dissatisfied, and the February 28, 2026, U.S.-Israeli strikes (which killed Khamenei and hit nuclear/military targets) proceeded after talks had not produced an agreement meeting U.S. demands.

Diplomacy continued amid and after fighting. A preliminary “Islamabad Memorandum” (signed around June 17, 2026, by Trump and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian) aimed to end hostilities, reopen the Strait of Hormuz, address reconstruction funding, and set a 60-day (extendable) period for further nuclear talks. Technical talks followed, though accounts of what was agreed on inspections, stockpile disposition, enrichment pauses, and other details often diverged between the sides, and the broader conflict has seen intermittent escalations, ceasefires, and renewed talks/mediation efforts into September 2026.

In short, nuclear diplomacy was actively tried—multiple formal rounds before the February 2026 war phase and continued efforts afterward—but it did not prevent military action when U.S. demands were not met to Trump’s satisfaction.

Joe Biden says Trump is ‘dangerously close’ to starting a war with Iran

  • He calls the president reckless and says he should rejoin the Iran nuclear deal

Given Biden's track record on foreign policy, I'd say he was wrong on his decision choice here, like always. If Autopen says we should "rejoin the Iran nuclear weapons deal" then we definitely should not.

So again, why not make it clear in his campaign for POTUS that his intention was to FIRST go to war with Iran
Because Trump is internationally known as a massive liar and bullshitter, and Trump has no principles and is willing to say whatever seems most expedient at the moment.

Before Trump ripped up the JCPOA agreement there were IAEA inspectors on the ground in Iran, and Iran was not enriching uranium beyond what is needed for civilian medical and energy purposes - about 3% enriched.

After Trump ripped up the JCPOA agreement, Iran reduced cooperation with IAEA inspectors. And then, since Trump released Iran from their treaty obligations they started enriching uranium to near-weapons grade @60%.

The facts speak for themselves as to which approach was better.

Yes agreed.

I'm just pointing out the massive dishonesty of posters like @ziggy who now want to pretend Trump was clear he would be waging war in Iran when he was clear he would not wage any wars. Meaning diplomatic pressure was his way to live up to both promises.

Instead you have Trump engaging in the oldest form of military interventons, 'Imperialism ' where the 'powers ' try to assert military dominance thru S.America, the Caribbean, Middle East and Africa simply because they can and to feed the Neocon Military complex.

Trump is the biggest NeoCon war monger POTUS that any of us have seen in our lifetime.

So, doing nothing like Biden was doing is smart? No, that is unbelievably ignorant.

Trump told us this very thing before he was ever elected to office dimwit.

The 1980 Hostage Crisis Interview
  • On the Hostages: In a 1980 media interview, Trump called it a "horror" that the U.S. sat back and allowed Iran to hold American hostages.

On Using Troops: When asked if the U.S. should use military force, he stated, "I absolutely feel that, yes, I don't think there's any question" about sending in troops.

On Oil and Intervention: He suggested that a stronger military response could have left the U.S. as an "oil-rich nation" by seizing resources or taking control of installations to recover losses.

    On National Respect:
He argued that the situation stemmed from a lack of global respect for American power and leadership at the time.

Yeah that's bullshit, and after-the-fact revisionism.
Yup.

From the Trump campaign to the Trump presidency nothing fundamentally changed in Iran.

So if the iran war was needed now, it was needed while Trump was campaigning and he could have ranked rallied support and prepared his voting supporters for it by telling them he planned to go war

Instead so many of them feel betrayed by this action along with his interventionism in Venezuela, Cuba, parts of Africa, etc... when he said the focus was going to be on America First and spending the tax dollars making life easier for average Americans.

Iran lied about their efforts and buried it underground you clueless dotard. They even showed that they had missiles with a range at least three times what they were telling inspectors.

If you believe that these inspectors had free unfettered access within Iran, you're dumber than a doorknob.

Yes agreed.

Is that what FOX told you?

Prior to your Messiah ripping up the JCPOA agreement in 2017, and then waging war on Iran beginning in 2025, IAEA inspectors had access to all declared facilities including underground ones.

The situation you and Trump have created is an almost total loss of access by Inspectors in Iran, and also releasing Iran from it's legal obligation under JCPOA to limit enrichment to levels necessary for civilian medical and energy purposes
