Unlike the maga media compromised GOP, an internet opinionated personality has NO direct ties or influence to a candidate other than urging his viewers to vote ... which has NEVER been a guarantee of even that.

The NFL changed. Players have more leverage, more mobility, more information, and more willingness to use free agency, trades, hold-ins, and contract pressure. A rigid “we don’t negotiate during the season” rule may have worked when the club held most of the cards. Today it can just mean you voluntarily stop negotiating while 31 other teams are happy to exploit the situation.
Tradition is great for uniforms and Terrible Towels. It’s a lousy substitute for adapting to the labor market.
