My more likely scenarios:
1. Guardrails will evolve where AI models, even if they do exhibit "self-preservation" behaviors can be prevented from ever leaving their sandbox.
2. All nay-sayers focus on "doom and gloom" where AI only has nefarious intentions. More likely, IMO - AI will want to emulate kindness, empathy, a sense of duty, self-sacrifice, etc.
So - I do NOT think AI will "end us".
