I know my daughter‘s school restricts access, and I believe many others do as well.

The challenge there is if it’s an existing student barring them having had their access removed, they’re going to be able to get in.

And in this case, I believe the doors were locked and the shooter just shot his way in.

My daughter's school keeps doors locked as well. In her case, her classroom has a glass window wall facing the parking lot/street. They have a locking safe room in the back. But someone like this guy could easily just blow out the windows, come in, and mow her students -- and her -- down within seconds. They have intruder drills but what good is that once he's in your room?

My daughter's school keeps doors locked as well. In her case, her classroom has a glass window wall facing the parking lot/street. They have a locking safe room in the back. Yeah, schools can of course increase security but sadly if someone is really determined it's a difficult scenario to stop. Not fun.
