A giant elephant in the room re spousal abuse and homicides is the demographics of the ethnicities and the cultures they create for themselves. The homicides among black women is almost 4 times higher than among white women, same for native American women, and significantly higher among hispanic women than white women, who have the lowest rates. Given the prevalence of 'macho' culture among hispanics, one would think that demographic would have the highest murder rates, but in fact they don't, which tends to disprove the 'toxic masculinity' myth. At least it proves it to be far less of a factor than some would like it to be.

I believe that the main reason behind the lower level of domestic violence in the hispanic demographic, at least for those that are recently immigrated or a single generation removed, is that they were mostly raised to be women and wives. When I lived in SoCal the hispanic community (the town I was in had a LOT of illegals) were almost all to a person the most family oriented and faith-oriented people you saw around. The hispanic women had their stroller brigades all over the neighborhood.

As I understand it, the hispanic community of immigrants were raised catholic. Catholicism is huge in a lot of hispanic countries, so I would expect that it carries over to their communities in America as well.
Spot on. My wife checks most of the boxes except maybe being a little too chatty at times and not understanding my need for space on occasion. Other than that,...she's allright by me. LOL

I can be quite chatty at times,....a lot of times actually. Then I just kind of shut down for awhile and need my space. My own fortress of solitude I guess...LOL . I had a girlfriend once many years ago that a lot of guys would have looked at as a dream girl type. But I didn't. She was very nice, had principles, smart, great sense of humor, very cute, treated me great,......BUT,....she was soooooooooooo damn submissive. Too submissive. I just cant go for that,...I like a woman that has a little spunk and backbone to her, makes things interesting. We would be sitting there watching TV at night and instead of sitting by me on the couch or even in a separate chair, she would sit down on the floor in front of me and kind of cradle her back into me between my legs,....like a damn dog. Sitting like that every once in a while would have been just fine by me,.......but not EVERY time. It just reeked of submission and I don't like that. I want a woman ,....not a PET! To top it all off,....she just kind of put off the vibe where I just knew I could have got away with ANYTHING with her and she would have put up with it,...like she was just happy to have me. I don't like that EITHER,...have some backblone woman ! Other than that,,...she was a great lady.
EXACTLY. They tend to hate a sig with a passion. We don't see heiracy. AT ALL. I talk to a big stick businessman the same way I talk to an unemployed guy on the street. Basic Human respect,....and not a BIT MORE,...or less.
