There's a real problem within the ultra-religious world, where people growing up in the 2000s still think of the ancient battles like they were yesterday, and they still hold those grudges and harbour all that bigotry.
My son was asking me about Christianity (he is actually baptized, though my wife and I are atheists), and why it branched off from Catholicism, and kept evolving. He feels like the people weren't true to their religion if they just kept changing it, and so somehow it's a diluted, non-real religion. He's 17 and still just has more questions than answers, which is a good thing.
I understand his POV, but tbh, religion is mostly just mummery and bigotry anyways if you really wanna be honest. The chance that the very first thing that existed in the universe was an all-knowing, all-powerful God that just kinda willed itself into existence and then created hundreds of billions of galaxies just by snapping its fingers is literally
the dumbest shit ever told.
There is no God, period, end of story. There are just groups of bigots who wear stupid clothing and wanna push their BS on everyone else. I put up with religion because I feel like most Christians and Jews are nice enough, but I don't for a second take their ultra-moronic theories seriously.
Regarding God and creation theory... About a month ago I saw some clown looking at an AI rendering of a human cell and it's seemingly infinite complexity, saying "This is to complicated to just have come about by evolution, therefor it had to have been created by God!", as if that made any sense at all

. Talk about the fkn tail wagging the dog. It basically means "This is too complicated to have just come about through billions of years of evolution, so the only explanation is that
an even more complex and powerful organism magically appeared first, and then created it
".
If that's where you're at, Jerry, and you think that religions are real, or A religion is real, and this Christian/muslim/Jew thing is based in reality, you're a moron. They're all just kooks with imaginary friends wh are a bit bigoted towards everyone else. I humour them, but I really hope that humans can evolve past religion one day.
