I would say it was nothing. Whether they are Republicans, or Democrats, they were not present when their parents had sex to conceive them, and no way to know for sure who their biological father was. I believe that Omar's father is her biological father, but it really does not matter.
A Russian born person would have been born with a different name than they would use in America. Russia uses Cyrillic rather than Latin letters. Involved with immigrating to America, that name would have been transliterated. As long as the hypothetical Russian continued to use the same name when dealing with the US Government(or changed his name legally) that is fine.
Omar has used the same name while dealing with the US Government, so once again there is no there there.
