Elon Musk said on Saturday that his company SpaceX had throttled the Starlink satellite internet service in Ukraine, disrupting operations that the country relies on to defend itself against Russia.

Musk's admission on social media came after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Ukraine's access to Starlink and Starshield satellite links has been restored to the speeds it had before restrictions that disrupted front-line operations for more than a week.

Using Starlink, a civilian commercial service, for offensive drone strikes to kill people has never been allowed, nor should it be.

Starshield, a different system, is controlled by the US government. What they decide to do is up to them.

Ukraine military violated Starlink terms of service and used it for offensive drone strikes to kill people. That loophole was closed last week.

Starlink remains critical to the defense of Ukraine, as it is the only system that cannot be jammed or blown up, at least for now. Were Starlink to be turned off, the Ukrainian front line would collapse immediately. This is NOT a threat, it is simply a statement of fact.

Starlink was also crucial to preventing Russia from overrunning Ukraine in the early days of the war, as all other means of communication were destroyed or jammed by Russia.

SpaceX has done more to defend Ukraine than any private company on Earth BY FAR.

That said, I have nothing but UTTER CONTEMPT for the virtue-signaling evil warmongers who push for endless slaughter and offer no realistic solution to the conflict. May you burn in hell.

This is indeed one of the main reasons that Starlink must remain a civilian operation.

It can be used for infrastructure that is military, but it cannot be used for unequivocally offensive strikes that make it fair game to be struck back.

An adversary blowing up Starlink satellites would create a domino effect of destruction that would generate a vast field of debris making space unusable.

Germany, Poland, and other countries pay for it, so it is not free. Musk was telling people he was giving it to Ukraine for free, but Poland exposed him by saying they were paying for it.

Musk is turning off a service that people are paying him for. This brings up the question over whether people should pay him for things in the future. He has a lengthy history of not delivering on things he was paid for.

Given that much of his money is coming from governments... It is at the very least a bad look, and certainly bad business.

Musk has never invented anything, so it is doubtful he will invent a magic magnet.

Musk is making hundreds of billions off of government contracts. If governments are not getting the services they pay for, they will stop paying. That is just life.
 
The CIA was running a hack rather than paying for military speeds (I have been told that the Germans pay the StarShield invoices)....Musk was having none of that...."PAY UP!".
