Trump has tested the strength of out Constitutional framework on corruption. No one ever suspected a President would do the kind if things Trump has done with direct profiting from the office, pardon selling, etc. So the Constitution never addressed it.

Well either it needs an amendment specifically banning that behavior or statute law if that suffices that bans it because, obviously, the next Trump is going to do that or worse now that everyone knows it’s feasible.
