APP - Dietrich Bonhoeffer: Why the preservation of good ethics and national character are so important to that nation’s politics.

If there are "exceptions" then it isn't a rule.

Nope. There are always Special Pleading Fallacies.

There is a thread dedicated to the relativistic nature of morality.

This is a thread dedicated to the notion expressed by Bonhoeffer and that I’ve been advocating around parts like these since 2016 when it became obvious that what allegedly couldn’t happen in the U.S can happen these days in the U.S. :

That with the degradation of ethical thinking in the coming together of political exasperation, disenfranchisement and high levels of corruption a populace in response to those factors can elect a pathologically malignant individual as their answer to it all, even though everything about that is readily foreseeable as a likely to produce a minimally highly impractical to tragic level outcome.

The unfolding of which Bonhoeffer called a form of “stupidity”.

... hence the thread title.

... it became obvious that what allegedly couldn’t happen in the U.S can happen these days in the U.S.
It wasn't a very intelligent allegation now was it?

This is gibberish layered in subjectivity three levels deep. You could be talking about any church group, any recreational club, any extracurricular activity, any political party, any athletic team, any civics group, any large conglomerate, any small cooperative, any academic institution, any labor union, any homeowners' association, any neighborhood watch, any bowling team, any country, state, province, urbanization, department, assembly, collective, etc. In fact, I can't think of any group to which this does not apply.

You should have written "They need air so they breathe" and it would have been equally applicable but less subjective.

, even though everything about that is readily foreseeable as a likely to produce a minimally highly impractical to tragic level outcome.
What random word generator did you use for this clause?

The unfolding of which Bonhoeffer called a form of “stupidity”.
Bonhoeffer wasn't particularly interested in being informative or insightful.

Trump asked that he and MAGA’ism be “on the ballot”. He got his request. They were and they lost. Convincingly.

The Democrats need to know this was an ANTI election and not Pro. This was a refuting of what is and a demand for change. Not a ringing endorsement of the Democrats, but a turning away from MAGA and Trump.

Democrats better be the agents of change the electorate is demanding or they will lose these gains as fast as they found them.

We've already been over this. Trump wasn't running in any race. You keep referring to Trump as "they" because you never mean what you write.

The Democrats need to know this was an ANTI election and not Pro.
This election was less about election and more about the cheating legislation that Democrats and leftists defended so vigorously because of this kind of fruit that it bears for them.

This was a refuting of what is and a demand for change.
It is the ongoing stealing of elections. If you leftists had passed SAFE instead of fighting it tooth-n-nail then you'd get to make all the claims that you are making; however, as long as Democrats are going to base their success on cheating, we need to keep this at the forefront of every discussion.

Not a ringing endorsement of the Democrats,
My point exactly.

but a turning away from MAGA and Trump.
Nope, ... of turning away from fair elections.

Democrats better be the agents of change the electorate is demanding ...
So now will they pass SAFE?

or they will lose these gains as fast as they found them.
Not true. Cheating works until it is stopped, and you and I both know that Democrats aren't going to just stop in their efforts to that effect.

You're full of it on this. Trump was all over the place DEMANDING to that his policies and he personally be the focal point of each of these campaigns. Even now he in on Truth Social staitng the reason Republicans lost is that they didn't make it enough about him.

So for you, with a straight face no less, to be claiming "Trump wasn't running in any race" is fantasy. He was in EVERY race because he insisted on being front and center and bullied his way to center stage if it was resisted.
This election was less about election and more about the cheating legislation that Democrats and leftists defended so vigorously because of this kind of fruit that it bears for them.

The polls say this election was about MAGA and Trump and its results are a rejection of both. It wasn't a 'pro-Democrats" ride. It was an anti-MAGA and Trump flood.

It is the ongoing stealing of elections.

You're delusional. Please rejoin the mentally well balanced.

You're full of it on this.
You're an eternal liar.

Trump was all over the place DEMANDING to that his policies ...
Trump wasn't in any race. Trump wasn't on any ballot. You claim otherwise and have now doubled-down on it, so specify for what position he was a candidate.

You are full of chit and you are a liar.

Even now he in on Truth Social staitng the reason Republicans lost is that they didn't make it enough about him.
How does that pertain to the people who were running?

So for you, with a straight face no less, to be claiming "Trump wasn't running in any race" is fantasy.
I acknowledge your double-down. In what race was he running?

He was in EVERY race
If he was in "every race" then he was in no race at all, which is the correct answer.

because he insisted ...
Reality doesn't conform to what anyone insists, and that includes you.

The [fake] polls say ...
Ignored.

It wasn't a 'pro-Democrats" ride.
That's for sure.

It was an anti-MAGA and Trump flood.
Nope. That's just the cover story for the cheating part.
