President Trump says he's cutting-off aid to Israel at Netanyahu's request, "They don't need it;" so the "left" can't use it as a talking point.

What about that bill in Congress to merge the IDF and and Pentagon?

OOPS.
@grok.

There is no bill to “merge” the U.S. Pentagon (Department of Defense) with Israel’s IDF (Israel Defense Forces). Claims that Congress is merging the two militaries mischaracterize a provision in the Fiscal Year 2027 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA).Snopes

What the provision actually does

Section 219 of the House-passed NDAA (H.R. 8800; previously numbered Section 224 in some drafts) is titled the “United States-Israel Defense Technology Cooperation Initiative.” A similar provision appears as Section 1217 in the Senate Armed Services Committee version.Politifact

It directs the Secretary of Defense to designate a Pentagon “executive agent” (a senior official) to:

Coordinate and accelerate existing bilateral defense technology research, development, testing, evaluation, integration of technologies, and industrial cooperation.

Cover areas such as missile defense, AI, autonomous systems, cybersecurity, quantum technology, electronic warfare, and co-production of certain weapons.

Promote long-term integration of joint capabilities (i.e., technology and systems) and joint training/exercises related to those technologies.Snopes

It formalizes and expands technology-sharing, joint R&D, supply-chain elements, and industrial partnerships that already exist between the U.S. and Israel. Supporters describe it as improving oversight of ongoing programs and shifting toward a more reciprocal partnership (especially as the current U.S.-Israel military aid MOU approaches expiration in 2028).NYTimes

What it does not do

Fact-checkers (Snopes, PolitiFact) and defense experts have repeatedly stated that it does not:
Merge the two armed forces or create a joint military command.

Integrate troops, place U.S. forces under Israeli command (or vice versa), or share operational authority.

Yield control of the U.S. military to Israel.Politifact

Critics (including Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Thomas Massie, and Ro Khanna) have described it as merging “parts of our military with the IDF,” integrating supply chains, or posing a threat to U.S. sovereignty. Amendments to strip the section were blocked or failed in committee. House leadership and the provision’s coauthors (including then-House Armed Services Chairman Mike Rogers) rejected the “merger” characterization, saying it only designates a coordinator for existing initiatives.

Trump's spin aside, this addresses my concerns. I am elated that we will cease providing aid to Israel, which means that We the People will stop paying for free health care for all Israelis, stop covering the university tuition of all Israelis, and stop funding the IDF's slaughter of Arabs.

Israel can keep on doing whatever they want to do, and We the People won't have to foot the bill. Hopefully the US will stop OBEYING Israel's commands to attack Israel's enemies, for which We the People foot those bills as well. Let's hope and see.

You sure are stupid.

This will NEVER happen.

Of course I might very well be, but why do you say so?

What? ... that we will never see? e.g.

... because I am already hoping, and I will eventually see.

Do you really think $4 billion covers the healthcare and education cost for 13 million people? Including the 5 million Arabs who live in Israel with full rights.

So Israel can educate and provide medical care for people for less than $35 a year?

That is astounding.
