1/3 of children tested for COVID in FL are testing positive

So much for the whole "kids can't catch or spread it" thing Conservatives were wrong about, just like "herd immunity", drinking bleach, and hydroxy.

Almost one-third of Florida children tested are positive for the coronavirus

A bunch of typhoid Marks and Marys. Hey, I've got a great idea! Let's send them all to school!! Then mom and dad can go back to the office and spread it even more!!! MAGA!!!

cant hide from it. it's in the population.
you could lock down a year and it would not matter they are asymptomatic though

They are seeing there is damage to the lungs in these asymptomatic children. ... We don’t know how that is going to manifest a year from now or two years from now,” Alonso told reporters. “Is that child going to have chronic pulmonary problems or not?”
BS

And whose fault is that? Yours, for voting for, coddling, and defending the worst possible response to a pandemic.

I thought it was "no worse than the flu"? That's what you said a few months ago.

COVID doesn't last in your system for a year. Locking down for 4-8 weeks, and mandating masks thereafter for a few months would do the trick.

Every single thing you've ever said about COVID has been wrong.

Every.

Single.

Thing.

Every instinct you've had and every judgment you've made have been completely, 100% wrong.

LMAO @ kids washing hands frequently at school.

That's a massive pile of BULL SHIT LyingVagina426.

But then, faked and fabricated data are the only way to promote this moronic notion that we should all stay home and watch our economy evaporate.

Here's an idea, all you lying leftist hacks STFU and stay home. The rest of us will go back to work. Deal? :palm:

I don't recall any outrage over kids who get the flu every year which damages lung epithelial cells, causing fluid buildup in the lungs.

COVID ain't the flu, so stop comparing them unless you want us to compare you to an actual piece of dog shit.

Kids are usually asymptomatic positive. The few that have symptoms, recover. Get over it.

So far, 17K kids have tested positive for COVID in Florida and 4 have died.

If you extrapolate that mortality rate to all 50M schoolkids in the US, you are telling us we should "get over" 20,000 kids dying.

What is the price of your integrity? 20,000 dead kids.

I can't see lv419 or floridafan posts. I'm guessing they are saying that they're not concerned about kids having the flu every year.

So we're right back to comparing this to the flu, are we? How many people died of the flu last year? About half as many as died from COVID this year.

Complications from flu among children in this age group can include:
Pneumonia: an illness where the lungs get infected and inflamed
Dehydration: when a child’s body loses too much water and salts, often because fluid losses are greater than from fluid intake)
Worsening of long-term medical problems like heart disease or asthma
Brain dysfunction such as encephalopathy
Sinus problems and ear infections
In rare cases, flu complications can lead to death.
Flu seasons vary in severity, however every year children are at risk
CDC estimates that since 2010, flu-related hospitalizations among children younger than 5 years old have ranged from 7,000 to 26,000 in the United States.
While relatively rare, some children die from flu each year. Since 2004-2005, flu-related deaths in children reported to CDC during regular flu seasons have ranged from 37 to 187 deaths. Even though the reported number of deaths during the 2017-2018 flu season was 187, CDC’s mathematical models that account for the underreporting of flu-related deaths in children estimate the actual number was closer to 600. Information about pediatric deaths since the 2004-2005 flu season is available in the interactive pediatric death web application.
