The recovery from the fanny may and freddy mac debacle started under the Clinton's was the slowest post-WWII expansion, burdened by excessive regulation, high national debt, and weak growth.

So many bank bailouts under joebama's first two terms. Could have eased mortgages instead of putting everyone on the street who got suckered by dirtbag banks.

And then there was chrysler that sank.

Here' my take on Reich's superficial idiocy:

By "commandment:"

1. Why limit just the Supreme Court if you are going to do that? Let's slap term limits on Congress. Say, 3 terms for the House and 2 for the Senate. Seems fair to me. Keeps congress critters from becoming entrenched for life.

2. This one is vague. What constitutes a "conflict of interest?" Why limit this to the executive branch? Congress is the biggest violator of this one.

3. So, congressional review of everything a president does hum? Why not eliminate the President and just let Congress run--ruin--everything instead?

4. Independent voter redistricting commissions? Some states already have those. How are they working out? Reich is just mad that they don't draw the districts to favor his party.

5. Why restore the voting rights act? It lets the federal government meddle endlessly in state voting rights. Eliminating majority Black / Hispanic / minority voting districts cut out specifically to give some minority better chances at being elected sounds like a good idea. Let's do that!

6. Media monopolies or near monopolies? There are already laws about monopolies. How about we require media to have a balance of Democrat / Republican, Leftist and Conservative journalists in every news room instead? Sort of a new "Fairness Act." That's something the Democrats want isn't it?

7. So, if Congress does this in legislation, then what? On scientific research shouldn't be politized does that mean cutting funding for stuff like the Green / Environmentalist agenda goes away?

8. Confiscate wealth? Are you nucking futs? What happens when the wealthy move or switch assets to prevent it? Inheritance taxes? Ever hear of living trusts and LLC's? Same thing different day. People will just change their way of doing stuff to avoid onerous taxes. They always have and always will.

9. So, a few high population states are all that matter now? The compact between states to allocate their electors on the basis of the national popular vote is probably illegal. It means voters in a state that voted for candidate X in the majority but were in the minority nationally, are disenfranchised of their votes because the state is giving them to candidate Y on the basis of people's votes in other states.

10. Good luck with that! Public financing of campaigns has never been popular. Besides it is probably illegal. Using my, your, tax dollars to support candidates and issues I or you disagree with is both illegal and immoral. Unions already lost that fight with using their dues for political purposes.
