T. D. Evans had previously been judge in the Tulsa Outrage. He sentenced 17 union members and suspected union members for no crime. They were then arrested and handed over to the local REPUBLICAN version of the KKK. They were whipped, tarred, and feathered.
In both incidents, many of the perpetrators stayed in the shadows, so it is impossible to be 100% sure they were Republicans, but Evans was always out in front, an open Republican.

Suffices to say, that in 1920, Tulsa County voted 57.4% for the Republican Harding, and 40.1% for the Democratic Cox. More importantly, the Republicans were in control of the local government.

There have been multiple KKK's formed, so a few of the times you were right. But in the 1920's many, if not most, of the KKK organizations were linked to the Republicans.
