19-20-21. The National Guard Is Prepared

Agreed they can be weaponized. The United States has turned it into a fine art. My early point is that it would be difficult to take out a group of people with a drone bought off Amazon.

It's purely a matter of weight. Specifically payload. The $10K drone I posted earlier was large, but even it couldn't carry a Claymore mine...which would be a great anti-mob device detonated 50 feet overhead. Still, it'd not only take a large drone to carry it, but the explosion would destroy the drone.

Holy shit what about this one? :whoa: That can do a lot of damage.

What about C-4?

This guy shows how you can outfit a gun on a drone.

A claymore is basically C-4 flattened on a metal back plate with 00 buckshot pressed into it. Watch the movie "Black Sunday" on Prime for an example of an airborne crowd killer device: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0075765/

It all comes down to weight of the weapon, including triggering device, and the payload capabilities of the drone.

I posted three videos of weaponized drones somewhere in this thread. FAA even has a warning about outfitting drones with weapons of any kind.

Almost all the internet servers run on Linux, Apache, SQL, PHP, and other open source programs. It is truly amazing how much of the technology that runs our world is freely available to anyone. In theory, a loosely affiliated movement could create the software, and hardware to create autonomous killer drones. If trump worshippers keep attacking people, it would be a motivation to do this.

Agree 100% about drones. There were a few in use at the inauguration today.

Have you seen the videos about the future of facial recognition drones? Slaughterbots.

That's some very scary shit.

I am not saying it is going to be a game changer, but I am saying it could be a game changer. And the last place you want to be in history is on the wrong side of a game changer.

For the money, drones are a waste of money. Even this $10,000 drone can't carry the payload of a Claymore mine and firing mechanism. Start adding a camera instead of being there visually to fly it and the weight goes up higher. Factor in a drone that large is going to become a target for countermeasures such as a smaller faster killing drone which uses its own mass as the weapon.

F = MA

Or picture a $50 drone, made in a garage, that could kill one to twenty people at a time (depending how closely clustered they are). $10k of those could kill most of a thousand clustered armed men.

I noticed a decided lack of drones with improvised devices in the area. Do you believe that this was because nobody sent any drones, or because they were caught by "drone killers" specially prepared for today's festivities?

Could be drone killers, or at least drone killers waiting to be launched. The area was FAA restricted so anyone who violated it would be joining a lot of Trump fans in prison.

I'm not an electronics guy, but radio controlled devices operate on specific frequencies. It might be possible to jam those frequencies at-will without disrupting radio or cell phone use.

Such jammers can be directional and only affect those in its line-of-sight beam thereby disrupting control of the target drone without affecting any friendly drones outside the beam pattern.

No shit. You sure try and act like it though.

Why? Because I have little respect for Gravy Seals(Alt Right people with no real military training, usually out of shape), or because I talk about possible future technologies?

No. Just because you talk out your ass. About everything. If anyone would know about no real military training that would be you. I am sure the out of shape part goes right with it.

My point is that the $10K drone wouldn't necessarily kill 10 people much less a thousand.

Again, it all comes down to total weight. The weight of the drone plus the weight of its weapon. The $10K drone's payload was only about 3 lbs. A claymore is over 4 lbs including it's trigger. A claymore won't kill 1000 people. It could fuck up a lot, maybe kill 20-30.

Consider the Tsarnaev boys and the size of their homemade pressure cooker bombs. Just a guess, but those things probably weighed 10-20 lbs yet two devices killed three and wounded under 300(?).

Drones are great weapons but building one that can carry a claymore and detonate it on target is going to cost a lot of money. A truck bomb is cheaper and more effective.

Obviously anyone who does such a thing against Americans is an evil bastard who needs to be shot. I'm just pointing this out so people don't freak out over nothing. I'm more concerned about being taken out by a tired trucker or a texting teen than I am of a terrorist asshole with a drone.

One good thing Trump did is that many young men will join national guard to defend against white nationalist domestic terrorists.
Best recruiting tool ever. Thanks Trump!

Let's be clear; a six year old with a loaded Glock is dangerous to anyone within range. Yes, the Alt-Right crazies should be respected as should anything that is dangerous.

A person who is working on his running car and doesn't respect the dangers, such as his tie getting caught in the fanbelt is going to be taught a very hard lesson of about respect.

That said, these militia assholes are crazies with loaded weapons are dangerous and should be respected in that regard. Yes, they aren't a match for a squad of Marines, but neither are the terrorists who died on 9/11 or attacked the Hotel Mumbai.
