"If you think the government has no business telling business its business, this has been a pretty great year."

"If, on the other hand, you think government has a role to play in ensuring fair play by companies that have shown themselves to be guided almost exclusively by self-interest and a disregard for consumers and public welfare, this year has been nothing short of horrendous."

"The Trump administration has been single-mindedly focused on getting rid of rules and regulations"

"Trump’s rule-cutting appears motivated not by a desire to clean house but by a laser-like focus on padding the pockets of business."

How long before the Martin Shkrelis of America take full advantage, can't think of the last time a corporation put consumer concerns above personal profit.

Just making "America great" by the day, well, for a select few it seems anyways

My man Lazy Laz strikes again. The last 16 years have seen regulations increase greatly in D.C. Glad to see that tide is starting to turn.

nothing removed except executive orders that should never have been issued in the first place......no harm, no foul.......

Right, such as eliminating net neutrality, delaying fidiciary rules, reducing industrial pollution standards, and weakening consumer protection boards won't have any effect on the average American

It is a pretty great year. Thanks for noticing.

Your fear mongering that that people like him would run rampant with any less regulation is noted.

As I said, when was the last time a corporation, bank, financial institution, or any large scale business for that matter every prioritized public concern over profit?

Feel free to cite us a few example

What do corporations exist to do?

And that question has what to do with anything here?

To make a profit, just as Martin Shkreli attempted and justified, question becomes, especially in a Trump era themed by low ethics, what happens when public concerns interfere with that profit goal, especially when the regulations guarding public concern have been eliminated?

This is what i love, the idea that any roll back, or reduction in future regulations, means theives can just run wild now as if no laws exist on the books to stop them.

its clear they are not on the peoples side

they even think they have figured out how to win elections without the people agreement

Why do you insist on being average? Maybe that's why you need protections. You're not capable of doing for yourself.

Define public concern.

When have those that constantly demand the government protect them done anything for themselves?
