China locks down city of 1.2 million after three coronavirus cases

BEIJING: More than one million people in a city in central China were being confined to their homes on Tuesday after three asymptomatic coronavirus cases were recorded in the country’s latest mass lockdown.
Beijing has pursued a “zero Covid” approach with tight border restrictions and targeted lockdowns since the virus first emerged.

China's lockdown and closed border policies have been in place- permanently- since the pandemic began. China's Covid death toll is very, very low- although the figures are challenged by all Western media outlets in countries that have abandoned caution for the sake of their economies.
So- are the Chinese correct in their severity or are Western governments correct in sacrificing their populations, by the millions , on the altar of Mammon ?

Can we really trust the Western media to inform us if the Chinese figures are accurate when our own death-tolls are horrific ?

If Chinese deaths and infections are not extremely low- then why lock down a city of 1.2 million over just three detected infections ?

OK- so you're gifted.

So, OH Gifted One- you are subscribed to the Western media and the Western media tells you that China has locked down a city of 1.2 million people because just three infections have been discovered.
Why would a virus-ravaged country do that ?
 
No response ? OK- the logical answer is that the city really is relatively virus-free and the Chinese are being truthful.

So- I'm coming down on the side of the Chinese; their death-toll is extremely low BECAUSE of severe lockdowns. Ours is extremely high because we've been thrown under the bus.

To maintain their exemplary record of low infection rates they must impose near-hermetic conditions and super-rigorous testing and legal controls upon all incoming Olympic competitors ......................................or cancel the games.

It would be interesting to know what the real numbers are re the number of Chinese who have had COVID. Its hard to understand what the Party is doing. This is the time for the Empire to pounce, but to do that people need to be working.
