The great political irony is that absolutely nobody wanted to resurrect mandatory sentencing after the beast had been killed but Tip O'Neill was feeling pressure after Lynn Bias' death to appear tough on drugs going into an election so snuck them in at the 11th hour with no debate and they have been around ever since. The DNC is working on its second generation of blacks enslaved behind bars but the dumbasses still keep voting for them thinking the DNC will save them.

"(CNN)Year after year, the United States beats out much larger countries -- India, China -- and more totalitarian ones --Russia and the Philippines -- for the distinction of having the highest incarceration rate in the world.

According to a 2018 report from the Bureau of Justice Statistics (BJS), nearly 2.2 million adults were held in America's prisons and jails at the end of 2016. That means for every 100,000 people residing in the United States, approximately 655 of them were behind bars.
If the US prison population were a city, it would be among the country's 10 largest. More people are behind bars in America than there are living in major cities such as Philadelphia or Dallas."

Maybe once those Commies like China and Russia see the value in 'Prisons For Profit', they might see how 'capitalism' can work for them too?

Nixon's aid said so. According to Baum, Ehrlichman said in 1994 that the drug war was a ploy to undermine Nixon's political opposition — meaning, black people

Nixon's Drug War, An Excuse To Lock Up Blacks And Protesters, Continues

At least you admit there's a drug problem in the black community. Perhaps that's why they produce so many bastard babies. What is it now, 3 out of 4 born bastards.

The U.S. federal War against the People, aka "Drug War" is a major part of it.

That's what I thought as well, but according to the article:
~~~
Some have said that the "war on drugs" is responsible for America's massive prison and jail populations.
And while this rings true in many federal prisons -- where nearly half of all inmates are locked up for drug charges, often serving lengthy sentences -- it's a different story in state prisons and local jails.
In these facilities, where the vast majority of incarcerated people are housed, Prison Policy Initiative says those held for drug offenses are a much smaller proportion of the overall population.
But this still oversimplifies the relationship between drugs and mass incarceration.
For one, there is huge variation from state-to-state in how drug policies are enforced, according to a Pew analysis. States like Louisiana and Oklahoma, for instance, lock up drug offenders at rates far exceeding most others.
Though drugs may not be the primary reason most people are in state and local prisons, law enforcement agencies around the country are still making drug arrests in huge numbers.
In 2016, drug arrests actually increased about 10% from the previous year to more than 1.25 million, according to the FBI's Uniform Crime Report.
There is a simple solution for not going to jail. Don't commit crimes.
There's a simple solution for the three strikes rule. Don't repeatedly commit crimes.
Here's an idea, stop making stupid shit illegal. There's way too many laws in this country. Did you know there are so many laws, and long, complicated ones I might add, that it is estimated the average American commits three felonies a day without even realizing it? Unacceptable. Nonviolent people don't belong in jail. If we went back to the basics: don't kill, don't rape, don't steal, etc. I could agree with you. But not until then.
In other words, don't make illegal what YOU think shouldn't be illegal. Got it.
Your complaint isn't about the laws but about how you don't like them. Stop thinking the laws should be based on your personal choices you selfish bastard.
Hey, it's my favorite authoritarian! How are ya buddy? ;)
My issue is with the fact that there is nothing is this country that is not regulated, taxed, or straight up illegal. As a result, we have the most prisoners per capita in the world. More than even North Korea or China or Russia. I know you're still on your anti-pot crusade, but that is only a very very tiny sliver of what I am talking about here. There's too many damn laws in this country and we can not use the "just follow the law" excuse while there are so many laws that people are breaking them without even realizing it.
It's my favorite little selfish bastard that think laws should be based on his personal choices and determines whether or not they're bad because of what he wants to do.
How can you claim someone has broken the law if they haven't been convicted of it in a court of law? How many of those you say break laws have been tried? The guy in Idaho that people witnessed stabbing and ultimately killing a 3 year old is considered a "suspect".
