95% of Outbreak Could Have Been Prevented If China Acted 3 Weeks Earlier

We can go all the way back to the decision to put this lab in Wuhan, one of the worst places in China it could have been because of how many people are there and flow through there.

That was almost certainly the first mistake here.

We can’t separate ourselves from China fast enough.

And it’s one of the areas where Trump has been dead on from the get-go. Everyone knew China has been screwing us on several fronts—even our leaders knew it, but going after China was ‘problematic’. Much easier to convince the lemmings Russians were the problem.

So Trump goes after China on trade. Kind of makes it easy to see why the Chinese communist government was so ‘laxadaisical’ in controlling the outbreak.

So here we are.

With China's hands around the neck of our medical system, able to strangle it inside of two weeks if they wanna....and they just might.

Well, the only F*ing reason it got here was China failed to contain it.

It wasn't so much that China failed to contain it as much as their and the WHO's efforts to hide and downplay it's severity and contagiousness, all the while China allowed flights from their country.
If this would have happened 6, 8 years earlier, the same damn thing would have happened. We would have counted on their (China and the WHO's) early recommendations that it wasn't a world wide threat until other countries were already infected. It's obvious which countries have the worst infection rates, they are the ones that had the most flights coming out of China.

Effect of non-pharmaceutical interventions for containing the COVID-19 outbreak in China

Abstract

If NPIs could have been conducted one week, two weeks, or three weeks earlier in China, cases could have been reduced by 66%, 86%, and 95%, respectively, together with significantly reducing the number of affected areas.

Blood is on their hands, this is also damning for the WHO as according to German Intelligence Tedros acquiesced to Emperor Xi's request to cover it up for two weeks:

China asked WHO to cover up coronavirus outbreak: German intelligence service
Delay cost world 4 to 6 weeks that could have been used for preparation: BND

During a conversation on Jan. 21, Xi reportedly asked Tedros not to announce that the virus could be transmitted between humans and to delay any declaration of a coronavirus pandemic.

It took until the end of January before the WHO declared that the coronavirus outbreak needed to receive international attention. Because of China’s delay, the world wasted four to six weeks it could have used to better counter the spread of the virus, the BND concluded.

Screw China.

What we Americans should be dealing with is: Why are we handling the crisis worse than just about any other nation on the planet?

Yeah, the Chinese administration did not help matters. But the Trump Administration is the most inept administration on the planet at the moment...and that should be of more concern to us than the Chinese administration.

What would you like to be done differently? is it something in NJ that you feel is not being handled properly?
You do realize every state, every county, every community is dealing with this differently....Now if you lived in Xichigan....I would understand the angst. They're not allowed to reopen until TTUN beats us;)

Maybe he believes if Trump was removed from office, the China virus would not have come here on the numerous flights from China because Trump was removed?

That would be the general consensus around here....
If someone else was president this would have never happened....

We aren't, we are in the middle of the pack of the industrialized democracies in terms of per capita infection and death rates which point of fact Doctor Birx say have been inflated by the CDC by up to 25%.

Yeah, the Chinese administration did not help matters. But the Trump Administration is the most inept administration on the planet at the moment...and that should be of more concern to us than the Chinese administration.

How so? We have produced more tests than any other country by millions and have flattened the curve there have been none of the predicted shortages of ventilators or hospital beds and whatever happened to that 2.1 million death toll estimate from Imperial College?

Who cares? The virus is NOT contained. Blaming China will not contain the virus. Only decisive actions based on science will do that. Stop making ridiculous excuses for the utter failure of this Administration. The failure is not only negligent, but in many respects, it is intentionally negligent. Trump and those who have enabled his corruption and incompetence are going to be gone the next time they are up for re-election.

It's called diplomacy moron, Trump is the only President to take a hardline on China since Nixon opened them.

Trump has repeatedly, consistently, and emphatically said that China bears sole responsibility for the coronavirus pandemic.

Trump has been a great president for China. For America, not so much.

Don't buy Trump's tough act. Another term and he'd likely help Beijing rise to a position of global prominence from which it may never be dislodged.

And there exists one singular accomplice of the new Chinese wolf warriors: President Donald J. Trump.

Trump’s China policy has been a gold-leaf wrapped gift to Beijing, creating space for Xi to consolidate his power domestically and expand his influence abroad. And now, as Trump seeks to deflect attention from his catastrophic failure to lead a national response to COVID-19, he is cozying up to the China hawks. Trump is hoping no one will notice that he has been the best U.S. president for Chinese interests in our nation’s short history.

His disastrous China policy is, of course, centered on a bungling myopia. Trump cannot focus on any other China-related topic because of his naive pipe dream that he could persuade Xi to sign a comprehensive trade deal.

And TRUMP has had 4 months on the 22nd of MAY, REALLY, WTF is your point? How many balls did HE drop and are still dropping.

Fucking idiot.

Birx is saying exactly what Trump wants her to say.

And for you to be celebrating being in the "middle of the pack"...is fucking laughable. And there are third world countries that have a lower per capita rate of infection and and lower death rate.

We have NOT flattened the curve. New York City has flattened the curve. Take New York City out of the calculations...and the US is still in an upward trajectory.
