I do know what a non-sequitur is. Comparing a knife to a gun is a non-sequitur. The comparison does not follow logically. The gun is designed to kill or maim. A kitchen knife is designed to cut vegetables and meat. One is inherently dangerous by design the other is dangerous if misused. We do have laws against knives that solely designed to kill or maim. Switch-blades, large hunting knives, bayonets etc. So when you figure out what a non-sequitur is then come back.
