A Defense of a Liberal Arts Education

What was the degree?
Statistics show that St. John’s College students excel in their endeavors both at the college and after graduation. Almost 70 percent of St. John’s graduates pursue advanced degrees—many enter the nation’s leading humanities, science, business, law, and medical programs. St. John’s College is in the top 2 percent of all colleges in the nation for alumni earning PhDs in the humanities, and in the top four percent for earning them in science or engineering.

Sounds like a prestigious private college.

I just went to state public universities.

How many Nobels? Nobels are the way @Cypress knows whether to respect it or not.

USC is not a University of California school.

ROFL

BWHAHAHAHAHAH

LOL

You get dumber by the moment.

The 2025 Nobel Prize winners were from UCLA, Berkeley, UC San Diego, UC Santa Barbara as best I recall.

And California is a global leader in scientific research, medical research, and Nobel Prize laureates. That's a claim Texas, Florida, and the deep South cannot make.

Since Texas is now the home of the Sciences, it won't stay that way for long.

And remember, USC isn't a "University of California":laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh:

It's not, Chuckles. The University of California's own website lists the colleges that are in the University of California system:

UC Berkeley
UC Davis
UC Irvine
UCLA
UC Merced
UC Riverside
UC San Diego
UC Santa Barbara
UC Santa Cruz

USC is a private university that is not in the University of California system. It is not affiliated with the UC system.

Didn't you claim to live in California?

I think so too. Loved it.
As for liberal arts degrees, you don't see anyone over the age of 25 working at Starbucks - so any of their employees with philosophy, history, and English degrees most likely used those degrees ultimately to get into law school, to get teaching certificates, or to get accepted into graduate schools.

For example, at a regular university, everyone majoring in philosophy would be told you need to get a Phd. to get a job teaching.

You do not have a knack for being funny and amusing. There is no way for me to surmise you just cracking innocent little jokes.

Like I said, call your mom. She can hold your hand during this trying time for you. I'm sure no one actually thought you didn't know who Paul Dirac was. For fuck's sake all you ever do is drop names, so I'm certain everyone knew you were as super duper smart as mommy originally told you.

take a chill, dude. Relax. Fuuuuuuuuuck

One could even just teach high school or middle school if one uses the English, philosophy, or history degree to get into a graduate teaching certification program.
