Agree?

God has used several secret oaths. They are blessed by God. They are not directly opposed to God's word.
Nothing in the Bible forbids secret oaths or even secrets.

I assume you keep your computer passwords secret.
I assume you keep your bank PIN code secret.
I assume you approve of locks on doors and keeping keys limited to authorized personnel.

Masonic lodges require a belief in a Supreme Being (a god). Nothing prevents that god from being God the Father or Jesus Christ, His Son.

Their various signs and symbols are used as teaching aids, and to identify the rank of members. They are often designed to build trust in other members of the lodge. Masonic lodges are about service and charity, both elements of Christianity.

I really don't care if you don't trust Masonic lodges, but don't condemn what you do not know.
“Again you have heard that it was said to those of old, ‘You shall not swear falsely, but shall perform to the Lord what you have sworn.’ But I say to you, Do not take an oath at all, either by heaven, for it is the throne of God, or by the earth, for it is his footstool, or by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the great King. And do not take an oath by your head, for you cannot make one hair white or black. Let what you say be simply ‘Yes’ or ‘No’; anything more than this comes from evil." Mathew 5:33

I'm sorry but this seems pretty clear to me.

The gist being......if a man is truly honest a simple yes or no is all that is needed,...no oaths required. This way you are not involving God in mans foolishness.

And BTW...........If you go back and re read how this whole thing began it did not start off with me condemning Masons at all. It started by me saying that Masons have believed for some time that it is wrong to help other people for extended periods of time because in the end it only propagates the suffering and problems. Then I followed up by saying " I am not a Mason nor would I ever be" I was then questioned by another member about my beliefs and basically told to shut up. THAT is how this began,.....it is all right there in the thread.

How did I know the Masons views about helping others for extended period of time? Because around 35 years ago a Lodge Master from Central Illinois basically said the exact same thing to me that the article we were talking about in this thread was saying. In NO WAY did this start out with me attacking Masons,...I made a simple innocuous comment that was neither positive or negative.

...and such communism, like any form of socialism, is based on theft of wealth.
In part. It is also based on control and power by those running the society. Thus, not only will a Communist / Socialist government confiscate wealth, it will seek to control the of production of wealth by one means or another. Be it that they heavily regulate production, confiscate it, or collude with it, those in power will seek to gain control over it.

Nothing in this verse says not to take an oath.
Indeed, baptism is an oath. So is the sacrament.

Masonic lodges do not take any oath on heaven or Earth.
They take an oath to serve God and to support each other in service and charity.
They are, however, agnostic, believing in God, but unable to describe any form of God. They refer to God simply as the Supreme Being.

I ask again:
Do you keep your passwords secret?
Do you keep you bank account PIN a secret?
Is it worth it for the military to keep secrets?
Do you consider it a sin for military personnel to take an oath to uphold the Constitution of the United States?

A simply 'yes or no' to what?

Do you renounce your oath to serve God? Do you renounce your baptism? Do you renounce the sacrament?

I agree. Democrat socialism is a prime example of that.

You also state WHY you would never be a Mason. I have been addressing that statement by you, and your inconsistent position.

You made a negative statement concerning Masons. I responded to it. You continue to make negative statements concerning Masons.

For people who don’t know - the fight over the ‘Save Act’ is really about the filibuster.

The Act would secure elections - making certain kinds of fraud much harder.

If the GOP introduces the bill for a vote, it will face an immediate filibuster from Democrats.

The GOP is foolishly ‘standing on principle’ about the filibuster - as if there are any principles left in a world in which Democrats openly talk about adding senators by making Puerto Rico and DC states, packing the Supreme Court, eliminating the Electoral College, and impinging on gun rights.

The Masons membership is usually business owners, management, relatives and farmers (yes, farmers), and a few of their friends.
The Masons do a lot for the community. They sponsor parades, park activities, etc. They are good people.

I don't care about young Mutumbo living in some village in Africa, thinking about how good life could be in America if he doesn't care about US immigration law.

I don't care about Poojah in Mumbai dreaming of coming to America illegally and going to school at taxpayer expense.

I don't care about Juan in Venezuela who heard stories about how fantastic the USA and how great the American dream is if he's willing to violate our law to enter the country.

The American dream is for Americans, including legal immigrants. The fact is, that right now, most young Americans will never live the American dream. They'll never even come close.

Spare me your sob stories, leftists.

Americans. Legal immigrants.

That's who I care about.
