The hostage-takers wanted the release of hundreds of tortured Palestinians from Izrael's dungeons and named their operation after the villages razed by the Jewish terror groups, Irgun, Lehi and Haganah. The Palestinians never started the hostilities with the invading European Zionists and all their actions have been in response to Izraeli atrocities- including the Munich hostage-taking.
Still- that was in 1972. Today, as a result of continued Palestinian resistance, the United Nations and 138 countries recognize the Palestinian state. Today's Neo-Zionists are as brutal as the Nazis who persecuted their grandparents.

I appreciate your take. It's interesting because I have gone my entire life without caring very much about Israel-Palestine. I live in the US, Europe, and Asia for parts of every year, so I think I have a pretty wide perspective. The space that Israel-Palestine takes up in American minds is disproportionate to reality. I agree that Israel does evil things. I also agree that evil should be resisted with maximum intention. I just don't feel like I'm "against" Israel nor "with" fascism, racism, and criminality. Maybe I need to reexamine my own position, but that handsome judoka from Algeria should not have quit the Olympics just because he might have had to touch a Jew.
