An Angry Trump Struggles to Understand Iran’s Defiant Leaders

Iran’s leaders have perplexed several American presidents, perhaps none more than President Trump.

President Trump’s angry claim on Monday that Iran was being “unbelievably duplicitous” in its dealings with the United States was just the latest sign of his struggle to understand his rivals in Tehran.

Mr. Trump considers himself a master of sizing up and exploiting his adversaries. But Iran’s leaders have baffled him.

“All they do is make me angry,” he told reporters last week. “They just make me angry.”

More frustration could be in store for the American president. Trump officials say a new deal to reopen the Strait of Hormuz may be near, but Iran continues to insist on collecting fees there that Mr. Trump has ruled unacceptable.

Trump is used to always getting his way, but unfortunately for him, he picked a fight with those who can shake off his bluster and outlast him. Maybe if he wasn't surrounded by yes-men, he'd know how diplomacy and the governing bodies that be work. His threats, if carried out, would get his ass handed to him by our allies and enemies alike.

THere are plenty of experts on Iran's leadership in the Government. The deal with them is they are not money crazy and they think in terms of centuries, not weeks. They are building something to last way into the future, beyond their lifetimes.

They have little self interest, and The PP cannot comprehend that.

But if he did

The oil gets it too

Trump thinks everyone's chief motivation is money. That's why he told Gazans he would build them casinos and resorts, and why he promised Iranians $300 billion in economic benefits.

Trump is too dumb to understand some people are driven more by ideology than they are by promises of McDonald's franchises and casinos.

Trump probably fired everyone in the State Department and Security Council who would stand up and give him an honest, unvarnished, sober assessment of Iran which wasn't sugar coated to serve Trump's ego.

Just sad. Three of the self declared international policy experts in the world above. Yet none offer their expertise to the country. Shame...

Its not all Trumps fault.....over the last three decades the Swamp has offloaded all of the foreign area experts and replaced them with WarPig ideologs.....my information network talks about this a lot.

We also no longer have any diplomats/negotiators....as it was decided they were no longer needed in the Unipolar world after the fall of the Soviet Union.......The Empire issues orders.....everyone else obeys or else gets destroyed by some combination of CIA and military ops.....the idea of negotiating it was decided was obsolete.

The reality is much worse.

Every time Washington says they want others to negotiate they mean capitulate.......mostly true of the Europeans as well.

Crypuss, in the last 18 months, have you gone one day without whining?

Trump was selected as potus carnival barker to manufacture the consent of Americans to nuke Iran. This has been the banksters backed CIA plan since 1979 and will remain the plan when Trump is gone.

WW3 was already being planned before WW2 officially ended. This is who we are, this is what we do.

^^ This dude supported the two worst foreign policy decisions of the 21st century (Iraq War, Iran War) and he has the gall to chime in on a foreign policy thread.
Two karats means two posts above. Dunce. And of course the rest is your typical lying. What else do you have?

Yeah dealing with leaders who would rather sacrifice their own lives and those of their people are frustrating but we should give them what they want. You pussy ass leftists would wail and moan though
