Analytic Philosophy and McCarthyism

What counts as Analytic Philosophy is often contrasted to Continental philosophy. Analytic is usually the style of philosophy in the US and England. Continental is practiced in France and Germany. It is not a clear distinction in terms of content or style.
Philosophy is all about applying logic correctly. There are no styles of logic.

Sander Verhaegh is citing specific philosophers so we know who exactly these Analytic philosophers are he is discussing.
Nobody has defined "Analytic Philosophy". Notice that your citation from
the Internet Encyclopedia of Philosophy talks about it but never defines it. Notice that you can't define it.

I think we both know why, i.e. it's gibberish. There is nothing to it. It's not even philosophy; it's just a bunch of undefined terms being thrown around by very stupid people who are desperate to cosplay thmart perthonth.

Gibberish.

You are a fucking idiot.

You are the one who trolled JPP with this thread. I still don't see any definition of "analytic philosophy.". You still don't know what it means. Too funny.

How many times did you have to attempt 5th grade before giving up?

"What is generally regarded today as analytic philosophy has its roots in the work of Frege and Russell and their development and use of logical analysis, in particular. The very idea of analysis has evolved in the processes of philosophical thinking, with the history of analytic philosophy being just the latest chapter in a fascinating story that is continually being rewritten as it inspires new generations of thinkers.

Too funny. This is not a definition of "analytic philosophy"; it's a conversation about the word "analysis". Calculus involves analysis as well, and I don't see any of that going on.

I have studied Analytic Philosophy and know what it means. Not mysterious.
You have no idea what you studied; you can't even define it. Was studying even involved in your "studying"?

How can you claim to have studied something and not be able to define it?

In terms of the article, the author implies that prior to "McCarthyism" there was a healthy level of Socialist and Communist political slant in philosophy in the US. Afterwards, that disappeared and the author laments that loss. He then, towards the end, argues obliquely that he'd like to see it return.

The author, Sander Verhaegh, is not advocating more marxists in philosophy.
