Good link, shows more details. The deputy, Jason Meade, a 17-year veteran of the Sheriff’s Office, had been assigned to a U.S. Marshals Office fugitive task force.
Goodson’s relatives and law enforcement officials have given conflicting details. Visible evidence of the events is lacking because the Sheriff’s Office does not provide officers with body cameras, and the deputy’s SWAT vehicle did not have a dash-mounted camera.
Looks like it will be a he said, she said.Goodson, who was not the suspect, drove by and waved a gun at Meade, according to U.S. Marshal Peter Tobin.
Meade confronted him outside Goodson’s vehicle in front of the man’s home, Tobin said.
One witness heard Meade command Goodson to drop his gun, and when he didn’t, the deputy shot him, Tobin said.

Ok I see. Good link, shows more details.

So you believe the family's version, victim was inside the house carrying a sandwich so the cop shot him three times in the back??? That's a little hard to believe.the major part that leads me to believe the county sheriff is covering up is waiting 3 days to contact the BCI. If it was a good shoot, there was no reason to wait.

The truth is somewhere in between. Will there be reasonable doubt ?
i'm not discounting it, but i'm not taking it as truth. once again, my issue is why the 3 day wait to contact BCI when it's been standard policy for years to contact BCI for officer involved shootings and WHY, if it was a good shoot, wasn't this gun that was found offered to the media as proof it was a clean shoot?
Feds to investigate after Sherff’s deputy killed a black man entering his own home in Columbus, Ohio
Casey Goodwin, 23, was fatally shot on Friday as he was entering his own home, with his keys still in the door. Casey had no warrants and was not even suspected of committing any criminal act. Casey had put his keys in the door before he was shot and he fell into the kitchen where his 5 year old brother and 72 year old grandmother found him on the floor holding a Subway sandwich. He had no criminal background and was not the target of any investigation.
On Monday the Columbus Police attempted to turn over the investigation to the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigations, the state agency that typically investigate police involved shootings, but the BCI announced that they would not be able to accept the case because of an unexplained delay in the request.
“We received a referral to take a three day old officer involved case. Not knowing all the reasons why so much time had passed before the case was referred to BCI, we cannot accept this case” a spokesperson for the Attorney Generals office said.
Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost said that BCI has a memorandum of understanding twitch Columbus Police that the state agency should be the first call after a police shooting.
BCI is the first call because we cannot be the subject matter of experts unless we are on scene from the beginning to document evidence of what happened from the start. Three days later after the crime scene has been dismantled and the witnesses have all dispersed does not work.

Any BLM protests? There have been riots over black guys shot by police that could have been arguably justified . I didn't see any when I googled the case.
WTF was the Marshal thinking?
There must be more to this than some black guy entering his gramma's house so a U.S. Marshall shoots him for that. I'm not defending the Marshall, just wondering what the heck prompted him to shoot.
There is nothing more dangerous than a high school educated Barney Fife with a badge and a gun and I don't like someone like this with the power of life or death over me either?!! This Barney Fife will probably use that old, I feared for my life bullshit too?!!

that's a load of crap........y'all racist fucks don't yet understand it.......but it's not white vs. black when government is concerned, it's blue vs all of us.
Normal intelligent people tend to change their opinions as FACTS come out, as they should. This is why so many of these stories tend to end up grinding egg into the face of the original story teller. ALWAYS better to let the facts come out. There is nothing more dangerous than a high school educated Barney Fife with a badge and a gun and I don't like someone like this with the power of life or death over me either?!! Not rocket science here.......... Certain people LOVE to get out ahead of a story before all the facts are in. That way they can shape the narrative, portray the story the way they want it shown before anyone really knows whats going on factually. They know that certain people tend to hold their first opinion and defend it to the death. This strategy tends to work very well on low IQ ignoramuses. With normal people..........NOT SO MUCH...Normal intelligent people tend to change their opinions as FACTS come out, as they should. You just don't get it- YOU ARE JUST A COWARD WHO THINKS OWNING A BUNCH OF GUNS MAKES YOU HAPPY AND KEEPS YOU SAFE.
This is how they will find you some day- after you shoot up a bunch of innocent people and OFF YOURSELF! You people are all alike!
