Several Conservative guys at the college I attended thought women shouldn't vote because that's leading to the destruction of Western Civilization.
I should also mention that the Incel and Alt-Right movements are right-wing.

The Women's Suffrage movement was a GOP deal, so your college buds are ill informed. I come from a long line of strong-willed, conservative women, and any one of them, my wife included, would bust the guy's lip if he said that to her in a serious conversation.

Never heard of Incel, and only heard of Alt-right recently. Alt-right doesn't represent the views of modern conservatives; no-one that I know claims to be part of that group. To me it appears to be something made up by a group of losers, probably liberals trying to skewer the actual Right. Not sure what any of that has to to with our conversation here except maybe to deflect or obscure.

I also note that modern Conservatism has much in common with Libertarianism. There are few issues where there is disagreement.

Nothing if you're French. Sailor was saying that if we tax the uber wealthy they'll just leave the U.S. and go somewhere else. Like where? Where would they go to have the same standard of living that they enjoy in the U.S.? Whereas a wealthy person could easily leave France and do even better.

Or are you arguing that there is no place better than France?

There are all kinds of places to go - where you can live like a king without even being a 1%.

But what will happen is they will simply stop investing in income producing venues.
Why own a business ( or any entity that produces taxable income) in the USA?

They can simply invest and pay much lower capital gains. when one has a ton of money there are all kinds of options
Why create jobs here when the government takes 70% and maybe a wealth tax on top of it?
