I'm sure that when Laura became aware of his angry overreaction to her comments, she immediately realized that in his very fragile state he simply could not handle more negativity in regard to his future...When children are extremely upset, what do you do? You say things that will sooth and pacify them.

You must have missed his public comments on the rejection letters and the whole college thing. He certainly did say something-quite a bit, as a matter of fact= and that's what she was commenting on. She didn't do research on his personal private life and call him out...
She "hurt his feelings" and apologized. He over-reacted but now he can move on...finish up school, take a year off, and try again if UCLA and USC are his dream schools... Or just go to Fla. International...

The rest of us are more than a little surprised that a so-called ex-"teacher" would be constantly attacking some high school kid on a public forum, and defending public figures who also attack him.
