How the hell do I know?
I concerned myself with the things that I cared about.
I do know that plenty of really shitty things happened.
Was the nation a utopia when the KKK was lynching people?
To the best of my understanding, America has always been a shit show,
but that didn't make it any different from the rest of the world.
Utopia is inconceivable in this fakakta universe.
The goal should be to make it "tolerable" for everybody
and conservatives can't even commit to that effort.
It's every man for himself with you guys,
so if all of America wants to act like Dodge City,
you shouldn't complain about it.
You've got what you want.
