Morning, Frank. Is it above zero up there?

I can remember when politicians were elected for their qualification to hold office and adherence to one’s own political beliefs, not their gender and race. I would vote for a black, brown, white, man or woman if I thought they were qualified and shared my own political beliefs and morality (no pedophiles allowed). I don’t believe that quotas are the best way to choose our political leaders. Just my own thoughts, Frank.

I also think that ability should be the determinant for my vote for a candidate. I do not EVER remember voting for anyone based on race or gender. And I have NEVER suggested "quotas" of any kind.

You may not have noticed, however, that the history of America has its politics DOMINATED by European heritage white males.

Perhaps you think that is because they are more moral and better qualified than women or people of color.

I don't.

I think that such a history is unfair on its face...and a scab on our existence.

I happen also to think that women are as adept at decision making as men...and often better at it. So coming at it from several perspectives...I think more women is a "good thing."

Which is pretty much what I said.

I agree, Frank. More women if they are qualified and share my political beliefs and morality, not just because they are women though. If there are not enough women in politics, there must be some number that is enough...a quota.

I think that European heritage white males have dominated the history of America because in the past, European heritage white females have chosen to be homemakers or secretaries or any other profession that wasn't political. That has changed. They now choose to be in politics and win.

The reference to women or people of color is not what I think. I married a Latina woman. I have no prejudice against women of any color. Best qualified does not involve skin color.
