Bette Midler’s insult to West Virginians shows the real heart of the demeaning left

What I really don't get is why the left is so triggered and angry about legislation that does not have a majority support. It really is insane.

All you have to do is look at any Leftist totalitarian state and how politics are done there. In such a state Manchin would have 'disappeared' by now and been replaced by a more 'reliable' candidate who votes the party line. The Left operates more like a cult and religion than deliberative and democratic political body. Failure to follow the party line and its dogma gets you pilloried then ejected as a heretic. You can see that with the response to Manchin not going along with the Big Bucks Blunder.

I don’t think a majority supports him on this measure. The last poll conducted in September shows a majority of WV supporting BBB.

“In particular, the union singled out a provision in the Build Back Better bill that would help miners suffering from black lung. This disease is caused by long-term exposure to coal dust, which builds up in the lungs and causes inflammation, scarring and cell death.”

Your link doesn't support your claim.

New poll results show strong support for Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.), and even more West Virginians applaud him in opposing President Joe Biden's multitrillion-dollar reconciliation spending bill.

A poll conducted by MBE Research during the week of Nov. 7 among 702 registered West Virginia voters showed that Manchin is overwhelmingly supported by his constituents when it comes to taking a stand against Biden's massive spending bill. The poll declared that 74% oppose President Biden's reconciliation spending bill in favor of legislation that would control spending more.

1. Copy and paste that part about shutting down mining.
2. What does that have to do with Black Lung?

You can prove that of course right, back it up!

[h=2]Why the coal miners’ union supports the bill[/h]
There are items in that bill that benefit the members of the UMWA, and they want those things.
Roberts’ statement highlights three items in the Build Back Better legislature that would benefit its members:
The bill includes language that would extend the current fee paid by coal companies to fund benefits received by victims of coal workers’ pneumoconiosis, or Black Lung. But now that fee will be cut in half, further shifting the burden of paying these benefits away from the coal companies and on to taxpayers.
The bill includes language that will provide tax incentives to encourage manufacturers to build facilities in the coalfields that would employ thousands of coal miners who have lost their jobs. We support that and are ready to help supply those plants with a trained, professional workforce. But now the potential for those jobs is significantly threatened.
The bill includes language that would, for the first time, financially penalize outlaw employers that deny workers their rights to form a union on the job. This language is critical to any long-term ability to restore the right to organize in America in the face of ramped-up union-busting by employers. But now there is no path forward for millions of workers to exercise their rights at work.

TD has been reduced to Bette Midler posts, sad thing to watch

I can't see the OP, so I'm not sure what the complaint is.

It's just his usual flailing.

It's quite ironic who the left think they are "tolerant" and "open minded." As Bette Midler proves, they are everything BUT.

Bette Midler’s insult to West Virginians shows the real heart of the demeaning left

Mad at Sen. Joe Manchin for nixing President Joe Biden’s multitrillion-dollar $2 trillion Build Back Better bill, Bette Midler tweeted out a slur of all West Virginians. Diva much, Bette?

Manchin, the “Beaches” legend claimed, “wants us all to be just like his state, West Virginia. Poor, illiterate and strung out.”

An ensuing uproar got her to back off — sort of: “I apologize to the good people of WVA for my last outburst,” she tweeted. “I’m just seeing red; #JoeManchin and his whole family are a criminal enterprise. Is he really the best WV has to offer its own citizens? Surely there’s someone there who has the state’s interests at heart, not his own.”

She couldn’t resist again demeaning the “good people” of West Virginia — who dare see their own interests, and Manchin, differently from her.

The elite left literally can’t conceive of legitimate disagreement: All of America that thinks differently is defective, a bunch of hicks and addicts. Progressives’ eternal blindness to their own bigotry is a marvel.

The bill includes language that will provide tax incentives to encourage manufacturers to build facilities in the coalfields that would employ thousands of coal miners who have lost their jobs.

There you have it. Why would they lose their jobs? Because the goal of BBB is to destroy the coal and petroleum industry. You have to be a mental midget to think that these incentives will bring facilities and job retraining to those who are going to be unemployed.

You have to be of dim wit to buy this bullshit from the Democratic Party of the Jackass. Apparently, the miners union is willing to look past this effort to destroy coal miners livelihood. Why? You guess is as good as mine.

She happens to be right. It's crazy when Democrats apologize for being right.

The rate of overdose related to the use of licit and illicit opioids has drastically increased over the last decade in the United States. The epicenter has been West Virginia with the highest rates of overdoses accounting for 41.5 deaths per 100 000 people among the 33 091 deaths in 2015. The purpose of this research was to examine and analyze the cause of the opioid epidemic and subsequent responses to it in the state of West Virginia. This study conducted a literature review using 37 references that were published between the years 2009 and 2018, complemented with a semistructured interview. The number of people injecting drugs has increased from 36% in 2005 to 54% in 2015. The total US cost of prescription opioid abuse in 2011 has been estimated at $25 billion, and criminal justice system costs to $5.1 billion. The reasons for this opioid epidemic incidence in West Virginia have been a combination of sociocultural factors, a depressed economy, lack of education, and a high rate of prescribing and dispensing of prescription opioids.

Projection
Projection is the process of displacing one’s feelings onto a different person, animal, or object. The term is most commonly used to describe defensive projection—attributing one’s own unacceptable urges to another. For example, if someone continuously bullies and ridicules a peer about his insecurities, the bully might be projecting his own struggle with self-esteem onto the other person.
