They were considered property before then..........so, as property, they didn't have rights..........I get that it's Semantics, but the legal ramifications and suppositions are very important in those regards

Actually Scalia, the right's and gun nuts hero on the Court, said the same thing at the end of his Majority Opinion in the Heller case, difference is he used bazooka and not cannon

do you ignore the fact fully auto machine guns have been banned from private ownership without special conditions for decades and decades? and scalia was writing along with the majority of how of course society has the right to control what kind of lethal weapons individuals can possess.
