BIDEN SPENDING BILL WOULD ALLOW CHILD TRAX CREDITS WORTH $BILLIONS FOR ILLEGALS

Actually, I've read parts of these, but they're all well over 2000 pages long. With no index or table of contents it's damn hard to find anything in them. Another thing they do is often reference other existing laws and say they're changing this or that in that law. So, no you have to go look up that other law to see what the hell they're talking about. The whole thing is so convoluted and imprecise that I seriously doubt anybody knows what's in it.

It is there in that version starting about page 1640 and extending to page 1647. A TIN (Taxpayer Identification Number) is allowed to be used for child tax credits. That would in fact cover many illegal aliens using a TIN versus SSN for tax purposes.

It also earmarks $1 billion on pg 1650 for an outreach program to get more people into the child tax credit program.

Good point. Pardon my earlier flippancy, but yeah... betcha all those congresscritters, (D) or (R), didn't read it all either. (D)s be like "Yeah, this is what our people want, let's do this thing!" And (R)s be like, "Pah, Democrats like it so I'm voting no because patriot."

Tucked away on page 1,647 of the Build Back Better Act, the Democrats' social spending package, is a provision that would repeal the Social Security number requirement to obtain child tax credits. This change would expand child tax credits to parents of illegal immigrants who don't have Social Security numbers.

Steven Camarota, a Center for Immigration Studies researcher, estimated that eliminating the requirement could result in up to $2.3 billion in additional child tax credit payouts to illegal immigrants.

"Illegal immigrants are able to receive benefits on behalf of their U.S.-born children," Camarota told Fox News. "But the permanent elimination of the SSN requirement means that even illegal immigrants whose children are also illegally in the country can receive cash payments, including the roughly 600,000 unaccompanied minors and persons in family units stopped at the border in FY2021 and released."
