Biden's Ascendant Liberal Christianity

Anyone can look through human history and find reasons to complain about Catholicism, Atheism, Capitalism, Socialism, etc.

Here is my two cents: most people are never going to be convinced to make a serious commitment to environmental protection based on academic arguments, empirical data, statistics.

Most humans respond to appeals to a higher ethical calling. The reason the landmark Clean Water Act passed is not because of data and statistics. It is because a river in Ohio was so polluted it caught on fire.

To the extent Christian leaders and politicians informed by their faith can make a case for environmental protection based on a calling to our sense of ethics and moral justice, I see that as nothing but a positive. Complaining about what Hebrew scribes wrote three thousand years ago in Genesis 9:7 really is pretty close to utterly irrelevant.

If you are serious about the 'environment', you have to address the root cause ... too many people.
Failing to address the root problem, simply means you will busy yourself putting bandaids on the cancer.

Cy: "To the extent Christian leaders and politicians informed by their faith can make a case for environmental protection based on a calling to our sense of ethics and moral justice, I see that as nothing but a positive."
Jack: This is called 'Happy Talk'. Gives people that 'warm and fuzzy' feeling.

I am not Catholic, but I imagine they could have a better ecumenical policy on family planning.

^You can disparage it as happy talk, but I notice you did not deny it is an effective approach to achieving environmental goals.

We are human beings. Not robots.

Every leader in religion, politics, or business knows you have to appeal to people on a level higher than a simple recitation of data and statistics. Even scientists are learning that they have to speak to people as ethical and emotional human beings, not as robots.

This was crystal clear to Aristotle 2,500 years ago. Effective persuasion always requires pathos, logos, and ethos.

That Swedish climate change chick was effective not because she had graphs and charts. She appealed convincingly to people's sense of justice and morality.

You consider lying and calling women cunts to be part and parcel of your Christian ethics.

no....that is why I don't lie and wj=hy I call both men and women cunts when they act stupid.....now again, about your passion for killing the unborn and your disregard of civilization......

"Catholic Church and Family Planning

Impact of Pope' Encyclical in Latin America
The papal encyclical of July 29 reaffirming the opposition of the Roman Catholic Church to artificial methods of contraception dealt a blow to the progress of foreign-aided and other family planning programs in Latin America. Birth control is a delicate subject in most underdeveloped countries, but it is nowhere so delicate as in those where the Roman Catholic Church is dominant. However, family limitation facilities of a sort unthinkable a few years ago were being established and were gaining acceptance in numerous Latin American countries before Pope Paul VI issued his encyclical. The movement was receiving substantial aid from the United States and other sources."

Your beloved Church is causing massive problems by it's influence in Latin America.
Too many people.

I can't believe you fawn over 'Christianity' like some Trump Supporter. You seem open minded and inquisitive, were you brain-washed as a child?

The Planet is only large enough for X amount of people.
We all have to acknowledge that first.
Then, begin making some decisions.

overpopulation is a myth. crazy people just like murdering people so they invented enviro-lies to recruit nonpsychotics to their cause.

how do we know? no way in hell is co2 a pollutant.

Going to Church does not make you a Christian you idiot.

This is why liberals can't be Christian cause all they think you have to do is step inside a building.

lol

It is sure as hell a good indication that he is. Don't call me names. It does not enhance your puerile argument.

again, you utterly failed to refute my point that appealing to people's sense of justice, ethical responsibility, and morality is an effective way to get people committed to adapting to a climate change reality.

Global population growth rates have been declining since the 1960s, and population growth is expected to stop by century's end.

Global atmospheric CO2 levels are increasing, show no sign of slowing, and are not projected to stop increasing without drastic action.

Family planning should be a global priority.

But you are obsessively focused on the wrong problem with respect to climate change. Transitioning away from fossil fuels and proper land management are the most sensible mitigation strategies

co2 isn't a pollutant. nor do people need to be depopulated.
