Big Government To The Rescue!

OMG, this is going to cost a lot of money!

Who are we going to hit up?

You guessed it.

The one thing conservatives hate to rely on.

Too funny watching all the government haters scrambling over one another to the big government to bail them out.

Just like clockwork.

Good thing we never stupidly slashed government to the bone like they all wanted to do.................

Too bad we cut the taxes for the rich.

This is gonna run the government debt way up.

If we had asked the rich to pay into the system at the rate they should have been, we would have a lot more credit than we do.

That would be like saving for a rainy day. Now it's raining.

We should immediately begin taxing the super-rich at a much higher rate to offset this burden to the national debt.

I would support a one-time tax on incomes of over $1M in addition to raising taxes on the super-rich from here going forward.

It is time to begin undoing the damage caused by the president's disastrous tax cut.

Anybody who makes a million or more per year and can't manage to pay some extra is managing their income very poorly. That should be plenty to have a luxurious life and then some.

The governments actions in forcing 90% of people out of work for months, if not years, will cost money you say? Well damn, better get more government involved so the government can fix what it fucked up in the first place then.

The speed with which Republicans frantically transformed into democratic socialists and advocates of liberal Keynesian economics had everything to do with protecting the stock market and instilling confidence in the investor class.

I find it dubious that Republicans would have acted this fast and frantically out of genuine concern for lower income working people. I think they rapidly became socialists out of cocern of an imminent stock market crash, which would hurt rich people as much as teachers and firefighters.

Once in awhile, the country seems to get caught in an anti-government fervor that is borne more of emotion than reason.

I'm not exactly a "big government fan." When Clinton said we should have smaller, smarter government, I cheered.

But we do NEED our government. Times like this make that as clear as day. This is a re-set of American attitude as much as anything; we need to keep our government in check, but it is not the enemy.

They need workers just as much as they disdain them.

Just goes to show you the power of workers if they could ever decide to truly unite, France style, and have a general strike.

The workers of America could have anything they desired, from universal health care, to guranteed day care and retirement, to low cost high speed internet and $10 cell phone service. All waiting, right there at the fingertips.

Perhaps what America needs to be mass producing is yellow vests.

Pulling foreign aid will pay for a big chunk if not all of it. It's time for America first.

To the barricades, workers of the world, unite. Lol.

Socialism was rejected by the American people when Bernie tried to win the Democrat nomination...and failed.

Just imagine getting two bailouts and a huge tax cut in one decade ...

Like Obama’s ARRA of 2009? ARRA had three spending categories. It cut taxes by $288 billion. It spent $224 billion in extended unemployment benefits, education, and health care. It created jobs by allocating $275 billion in federal contracts, grants, and loans.

Difference is people are not unemployed they just aren't getting paid due to the virus.

The Bail Outs I'm talking about like the Airlines who got one in 2009, a Tax Cut 2018 and now they're back begging for more money to Buy Back Stocks

What do you expect? If the government shuts down air travel within the country the airlines may not survive and that is something we as a nation cannot be allowed to happen.

You nailed it. It's all about the money. Always has been. The greedy rich and powerful only tolerate labor because they need it to get rich. After AI, forget that. Machines don't get sick.
