Big Government To The Rescue!

Hello Bourbon,

Ask not what you can give to your country, but what your country can give to you.

Lie.

Oct 3, 2018 - The presidency has been bad for Donald Trump's finances, with his personal net worth falling from $4.5 billion to $3.1 billion over the past two ...

OMG, this is going to cost a lot of money!

Who are we going to hit up?

You guessed it.

The one thing conservatives hate to rely on.

Too funny watching all the government haters scrambling over one another to the big government to bail them out.

Just like clockwork.

Good thing we never stupidly slashed government to the bone like they all wanted to do.................

what exactly are you babbling about?

Hello jimmymccready,

(from another thread)

Conservatives are now Rooseveltians.

And the transformation, unlike the advance of the corona virus, happened virtually overnight!

They couldn't be happier we have this big giant government to come to the rescue.

In 12 months what's left of our nation will largely resemble North Korea. Primarily agrarian communities with the State being the chief beneficiary of those labors. A few specialized industries will remain, also to serve the state. What elections are held will be of no consequence because the only option people will have to vote for is maintaining the social order.

Good one! Sounds like a scary movie. Like one of those futuristic thriller anarchy things where dirty thugs rule the highways and drive highly modified fighting vehicles. It could be a book. Call it "Atlas Shrugged." No, wait a minute. That one is taken. How about "Covid World?" Now there's a scary title...

Laugh all you want now but I've been right about everything else this entire time. Hope you know about crop rotation.

Hello I<3Big Anime Tiddies,

Laugh all you want now but I've been right about everything else this entire time. Hope you know about crop rotation.

Cut it OUT!

You're killing me!

:rofl2:

Crop rotation is going to be overlooked. Oh no! How will we survive?

I have been trying to grow as much of my own food as possible for years. I can't do it. What I can do is augment what I buy. And certain things grow in abundance, others not at all. If I want a normal variety I have to go to the store. And I expect food to be there. And it will be. America has to eat.

The America you have known for 80 years doesn't exist anymore and never will. I don't blame you for sticking your head in the sand and ignoring it but this is the plain simple truth.

With all the soy boy Millennials in this country, you are probably right. No way in hell they are going to fight for their freedoms. Better to let the government make their decisions for them.

Hello I<3Big Anime Tiddies,

The America you have known for 80 years doesn't exist anymore and never will. I don't blame you for sticking your head in the sand and ignoring it but this is the plain simple truth.

The reason the stores have been cleaned out is because you-know-who went on the air a week ago with all the big grocers and said it's an emergency but don't worry there will be plenty of food.

That's how much faith people have in DT.

With those words, an immediate grocery-buying panic was launched.

There is no food shortage in the USA.

What has happened is the food in the stores has been transferred to America's pantries and freezers.

Nothing has interrupted the supply.

The shelves will be restocked.

And in a short while, there will be low price meat sales on great looking cuts because everybody that panicked this week will still be eating out of their freezers.

And they will still have to go to the store to buy produce.

Then they will see all these low price sales and wish they didn't already have a freezer full.

I am so unconcerned.

There will be plenty of food.

Some of our favorite things may be hard to find in the duration, but that's just an opportunity to broaden the horizons and look for more variety in our diets. There is still a whole freaking store full of stuff. Maybe it is time to start eating less meat anyway. Health experts have been telling us this for years.

But I tell ya what.

As soon as I go to a grocery store and can't find anything to eat, I will come back here and tell you I was wrong.

I just don't see it happening at this point, or in the predictable future.

This isn't just a food shortage. This is complete and total economic collapse of almost every single industry in the nation, if not the whole world. If nobody is working, there is no money for people to buy things. Without money spent on things, businesses cannot make things. Do you get that?

Further, there will be no children in the next generation to pay taxes for the older generation nor care for them. And without people working now, there is no income or sales tax for the State to collect to provide services with. In a couple of months you're gonna look back at this (if they haven't turned off most of the internet by then) and see just how right I am.

And yet Wuhan is productive again by now.

This is temporary!

Shutting everything down is temporary.

Jobs are not going away.

Mostly, they are just on pause.

And people are being given emergency cash to supplement income loss.

Thanks to Big Government.

We just have to pause for a while and flatten the curve.

We are not going away.

I heard that food supply chains need extra workers right now to fill the demand.

Restaurant people can get work right now if they are smart.

We will survive this. Our world is coming back. You just have to have faith.

I have always said just because I an an atheist doesn't mean I have no faith.

My faith is in humanity to persevere and improve lifestyles over time. I still maintain that faith. Look how far we have come from being cavemen and hunter-gatherers!

You cannot "pause" industries for 18-36 months. That's so far beyond impossible I can't even think of a allegory for it. Jobs lost now aren't just never coming back, they're never going to exist again. Not in your life time or mine anyways.

The governments actions in forcing 90% of people out of work for months, if not years, will cost money you say? Well damn, better get more government involved so the government can fix what it fucked up in the first place then.
It possibly would not have gone this route had they tested like South Korea.
